Dear readers,

Today I received permission to further arrange my trip to Thailand. For this I had to submit an English statement from my health insurance.

I am insured with CZ (50+) and have received a short statement stating that treatment for Covid 19 will be reimbursed, without mentioning a minimum of $100.000.

Now I have found and booked a hotel and both the follow-up input at the embassy and the hotel ask for that statement stating that amount. CZ refuses to commit itself by issuing a statement stating that amount.

Is anyone further along than me and does a statement really need to be filed with that $100.000 on it?

My next step is to arrange a ticket. A Covid-19 PCR test and a fit to fly statement.

My departure date is scheduled for December 4.

My extension of stay ends on December 27, 2020, so I still have 6 days to arrange a new extension.

Regards,

Ferdinand

    Hello Ferdinand,
I have a statement drawn up in the English language from Zilveren Kruis. It is mentioned several times that all cases related to COVID 19 are reimbursed for 100%. After I inquired by telephone with Zilveren Kruis about the 100.000 to be mentioned, I received the answer that they absolutely do not do that.
I have now gone through the procedure with no problem and have SOE.

I'm on the same point. My insurance company (DSW) gave me an extensive statement in English about my insurance coverage, including the following phrase: 'Hospital treatment in a locally qualified hospital during a limited period of 365 days; inclusive covid-19 related hospital costs.'
I am very curious if anyone has experience with it if this is accepted by the Thai authorities.
    Thanks in advance,
    Hans

Ferdinand in the subject above I have already said how I did it, But again if you have submitted the papers, what are you paying attention to make a phone call and ask if everything is okay if not you can explain and I expect if everything is in order you will get an answer right away.

Our experience: we have received a statement from the silver cross. It does not state an amount, but specifically a 100% cover for Covid. The embassy has approved this and the COE has also been issued.
We fly at the beginning of December, so I don't know how this is seen in Thailand.
You can also call/email the embassy.

Touring Family full is highly recommended for Belgians. 119 euros per year and per couple. Max.3 months traveling.
Unlimited warranty and accepted by the Thai Embassy. Smooth and friendly service.

In my opinion, no Belgian insurance currently covers COVID-19 because Thailand is currently a red zone for Foreign Affairs and negative travel advice applies.
I am curious if Touring will now issue a statement that you are covered for COVID-19 abroad/Thailand.
