Home » Reader question » Reader Question: Does anyone know about Chiang Mai Lanna Business Services Ltd?
Dear readers,
I have been looking for a source of income in Chiang Mai for some time now. That's how I came across the CBLS Jobs website. This site has a whole list of job opportunities for foreign workers at Chiang Mai Lanna Business Services Ltd. Customer service jobs, including work permit and visa.
Now they have been advertising these vacancies for years with this slick site. Is this company that big or is there so much turnover at this company? It looks like too good to be true. Is there a catch? I can't find anything negative on the net.
Who has experience with Chiang Mai Lanna Business Services Ltd ?
Regards,
Jaco
Dear Jaco, how do you know that CLBS, (and not CBLS as you write) has been advertising the same vacancies for years, if you only recently came across the website, and what do you mean a slick site, snags, and searching the net for negative reporting? You say a lot about yourself in just a few sentences!
Please contact http://www.chiangmaiexpatsclub.com/
and go to one of their meetings. Guaranteed that you will get more information there! Success.
Apparently you didn't post a previous comment. Thanks for your tip, Soi. If this says anything about myself, it's that I'm wary of the dangers of the internet.
It's a call center and you're also employed there, if I understand correctly.
They are looking for native speakers in a number of languages, but as far as I know not in Dutch.

Every respectable company with international allure offers jobs.
If only to show how successful they are.
This is how the website should also be 'slick'.
Whether CLBS is bona fide, please read it?!

Hello Jacob,
This is not my own researched or invented opinion, but from what I have read on TB.
A work permit is something in Thailand that is made of platinum, set with brilliants.
This is also something that the person in question can do / arrange all by himself.
I wouldn't believe ads that say they can do this for you, including filling your dishwasher and emptying it when it's clean.
There are a number of people here on TB who have one and therefore have to renew it every year.
MN one who had to wait a few months (or longer) to see whether his work permit was extended.
Go and find out what you can do/set up in the Netherlands and you can also do that work during your “holiday” in Thailand.
But I still think that you should first sit on the internet for a few days / weeks and find out what your options are.
LOUISE
The offer of a work permit was indeed the reason for my suspicion. Especially after what I read on TB about work in Thailand. But I wouldn't want to pass up an opportunity like this because I'm suspicious or just cautious about the dangers of the Internet. Therefore, I would like to hear that this is a bona fide company.
I didn't just ask the above question on this blog. I now have a good picture of CLBS.
If you are accepted, you will be advised to use a Non-Immigrant type B visa. A work permit is arranged during the stay. People go to work in a call center where they are paid per minute or per call. This results in a salary of Thb 25.000 to Thb 30.000. This is therefore below the minimum wage for a farang. In addition, the ratio of the number of farang to the Thai is not correct. A work permit is therefore ultimately not issued. So that after a year people are put back on the street.
This explains why you won't find anyone who has worked at CLBS for more than a year. I attribute the fact that CLBS is mainly written positively about the company itself. Someone probably has a day job writing positive reviews. Positive contributions to forums are invariably from new members. Furthermore, ex-employees will not complain as it concerns Thailand where people are willing to pay for volunteer work.
In short, fun for someone aged about twenty who is going on an adventure in Thailand for a year. But less suitable for a 47-year-old who wants to build a life with his girlfriend and burns all the ships behind him.
This is my conclusion. Correct me if I'm wrong.
