Dear readers,

My non-immigrant visa 1 year Thailand is almost over.

I have the following questions:

  • Can I apply for a 3 month visa at the Sisaket Immigration Service?
  • Are there any conditions attached?
  • Or can I convert it into a 'retirement visa' for 3 months and what are the conditions?

I have had a one-year non-immigrant visa for 6 years, but I return to the Netherlands every summer and apply for a new visa there. I stayed in Thailand this year hence my question.

I have already looked at various websites, but you are actually sent from pillar to post and vice versa, but no correct answer.

Thanks for your help,

Geert

Just have your visa extended that costs 12000 thb and you must have a bank certificate of 800 thb, but they arrange that for you in those visa bureaus. A retired visa is also possible, but you must be 000 years old.

    Hi Gert,

    As I see it.
Already received a visa 6 times, right???
just get a seventh plus a single or multiple entry and you're done.

    Geert,

I assume you are over 50, as we are talking about a ritement visa.

    Last week I arranged an annual visa, ie a riterement visa, the steps I took are;
Obtained an income statement from the Dutch embassy about THB 1.200
Then I went to the immigration service here in Hua Hin, there I took a multi entry, total costs thb 5.700

    Success.

    regards leo

I came to Thailand with a non-immigrant O on July 4 and after 2 months I did the same at the immigration service in Pattaya. Retirement multiple entry.

”Just have your visa extended that costs 12000thb”

Excuse me?? 12000 baht?? Extension costs 1900 baht, with some photocopies added
    me 2000 baht every year.
You must indeed be over 50 years old and have 3 baht for 800.000 months
have had or can prove to the bank that you have an income of 65.000 baht
    per month.
I wouldn't get involved with shady agencies that solve your problems through corrupt channels. Sooner or later you will run into the lamp.

    • John says up

Those 65000 bath or 800.000 bath are those converted to the euro net or gross amounts. I am asked about my gross or net income.
Thank you very much for the explanation.

    • Roland says up

Quite right what you say there Loe, to Paul and the people who follow his example I can only say that firstly they are very naive, and secondly that they are playing a dangerous game.
For that 12.000 THB it all seems to run smoothly at first glance, but they do not realize that they are in an illegal circuit. Sooner or later there will be trouble.
They just have 12.000 THB to "stay in their easy chair" and have chores done by others (gangsters).
Good advice, stay far away from those individuals and go to the immigration office yourself, it will only cost you a fraction of that amount and… you are 100% fine!

What Loe told is the truth, I'm going to get my annual extension at immigration in Jomtien (Pattaya) next week.

    Dear Geert,

A little late to get into the immigration rules. But hey, sometimes your head isn't in it.
But first to clarify the question relevant to a Visa.
Purpose of your visa, term of your stay. Married / yes / no / if yes wife passport European or Thai.
Income ? More than or equal to THB 800.000 per year or bank balance (freely withdrawable) on Thai bank, balance of THB 800.000 for three months prior to the application.
.?? Too many questions?? Indeed, there is always a sleeve to adjust, but that is also called corruption and illegal here.

    Succes

Freely absorbable? I received my retirement annual visa on a deposit account of 1.000000. Was only there for two months. Have I been lucky then? I had arranged a 3-month visa in the Netherlands, and arranged an annual visa as of October 22, 10 in BuengKan. Cost indeed 2013 THB. It's all quite confusing in Thailand!

      • gerard says up

Then you are indeed lucky, because you are supposed to use this account for your living expenses.
Do not forget to have your booklet updated (preferably the day before), which they thoroughly check during your application.

What about those other papers? The Embassy in The Hague makes me a bit crazy. They want me to have my extract from the birth register, population register, certificate of good conduct, medical health certificate and bank balance legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

I will manage the first three, but the health declaration must first be served by a certified agency, and the bank statement by the Chamber of Commerce.

So I can't make it in time anymore so I just wanted to do those last 2 in Thailand with a Thai bank balance and doctor's certificate, or do I not need those first 3 from an extension of a 3 month visa to a retirement, save me anyway a journey of 400 km.

    • janbeute says up

Geert how do you get such a story as 800000 bath free on available .
Almost every day I read the same story on this weblog.
Yes sure I can dream it.
800000 bath on a Thai bank account minimum for 3 months etc etc etc.
Or combination with income etc etc etc.
Freely absorbable is not required .
Well that you can show that your money in Thailand is moving every year.
Hope you understand what I mean .
I also feel like a chatter now, by the way.

      Johnny .

Thailandblog has published a great and excellent article for 3 weeks about Visa and everything related to it, ie everything that has to do with it. I would read there first, apart from the good idea already posted here by others to your question. great martin

older than 50 years old can apply for a retirement visa, required 1900 for the costs and a bank account with a minimum of 800000 baht must be available for at least 3 months, just before you go to immigration, visit your bank office, get confirmation that the money is on it, it is best to go to immigration the next day, confirmation costs 100 bth, and ignore all those so-called fast providers.

  9. Hans Wouters says up

I understand that the 8oo.ooo bath only needs to be in the bank for 2 months with the first application. Up to 3 months for renewals. I don't think freely withdrawable or deposit is the same at all immigration offices, so it's better to be safe than sorry.

  10. Hans Struijlaart says up

    Small question.
What if you can't prove you have 800.000 baht?
    What then?
Do you have to fall back on a tourist visa for 1 month?

    Hans

    • Hans Wouters says up

An alternative is of course if you have sufficient monthly income, but you have already received an annual visa 6 times, haven't you? The income requirements if you apply for it in the Netherlands are the same as an extension in Thailand. Then what is the problem?
      Groet
      He

    • KhunRudolf says up

The income requirements for a visa are either 800 baht in a bank account or 65 baht income per month or a combination of both up to an amount of 800.

  11. Chris says up

Since I spent days in the Netherlands reading websites and blogs, trying to find out how to avoid visa runs and ended up reading so many conflicting stories (again here), here's my story.
    I entered Thailand on July 4 with a non-immigrant O multiple entries.
One morning I went to the Immigration Service in Pattaya (Jomtien) and asked the foreign employee present there for advice.
I had to bring a statement of income from the Dutch Embassy, a passport photo and a copy of my rental contract. Then apply for the statement in writing at the Dutch Embassy. On September 2, we went to the emigration center with the documents and received a one-year travel visa.
The statement of income is a joke, by the way, because you do not have to provide income data. The statement also states that the Dutch Embassy takes no responsibility for the contents of this document.
Cost statement I thought was 30 euros and visa 1900 bath.

    • justHarry says up

No income statement? So you had enough money (800.000, minimum 2 months at the 1st time) in the bank I understand .. or am I wrong?

      • Chris says up

No, not enough money, just an income statement from the Dutch Embassy on which you can fill in what you want, you don't have to provide any supporting documents

  12. geert says up

I read somewhere that you can get a 3-month riterement visa that you don't have to show your financial details or is that another story?

  13. RonnyLadPhrao says up

    Geert,

    The solution is quite simple.
Your question is actually what to do to stay another three months longer.

From the information you provide, I conclude that you have a Non-Immigrant O multiple entry with a validity period of one year.

Look at the validity period of your visa and before the end of the validity period of your visa, do a quick visa run to one of the neighboring countries and you will receive three months of residence.

Problem solved in 1 day, you can stay three months longer and don't have to prove anything.

  14. geert says up

Yes RonnyLadPhrao I already did that 2 months ago that visa run no problem

    • RonnyLadPhrao says up

Well, I don't see the problem?
You can still do one until the end of the validity period.

  15. geert says up

RonnyLadPhrao my visa already expired in September and I then received a stamp for 3 months, it will probably not work again with a visa that expired in September

    • RonnyLadPhrao says up

      Geert,

You can ask a question that everyone tries to answer, but if you start changing the data, it becomes very difficult.
This way we can keep busy and then you are surprised that, as you say, "people are sent from pillar to post and vice versa but do not get a correct answer"

It clearly says “My non-immigrant visa 1 year Thailand is about to expire”
Now you suddenly come across that the validity period of your visa has already expired at the end of September.
Then you can indeed no longer make a visa run and other things will also become impossible.

      Good now.

Let's assume you want to stay for another three months. However ?
Because with the three months that you are now asking for, you are actually already 6 months after the end of your visa.

      1. You can forget about renewal because you can't extend what you don't have.

      2. You can inquire at immigration whether you are eligible for a Non Immigrant visa OA. You can obtain it in Thailand, but you will have to meet certain conditions. I do not know your details, so read the previous article regarding visas or check this link to see if you are eligible and whether you can meet or meet the conditions -
      http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/services/123/15385-Non-Immigrant-Visa-%22O-A%22-(Long-Stay).html

      3. Go to a neighboring country, go to a Thai embassy and apply for a Non-Immigrant O. Conditions are the same as those you must meet in the Netherlands for a Non-Immigrant O. The question is whether you have those conditions available.
      of
apply for a tourist visa there. You get 60 days and can extend for 30 days.
If you plan to stay for another 3 months afterwards, suddenly request a double or triple. Saves you some time if you change your idea again.

      4. Simplest solution. Go to the Netherlands and arrange a new annual visa there.
The advantage is that you have all the requested data available there and then you can go to Thailand for another year. You'll be back and forth in about a week.

    Am I an exception?
I have been coming to the emigration for 7 years, previously in Nonkai and in recent years in Udonthani. I go there fully prepared. With Embassy statement of income, only AOW and proof of being married with 3 beautiful photos of us together in and around the house. Show me my Thai bank booklet, which states that I receive state pension every month. Then I pay 1900 baths with a smile and can last another year. I don't understand all the fuss. If you just do what they ask, you're in. 1 hour outside again with a one-year visa. I got my first visa in Amsterdam and then never left the country again. But I never listen to stories from others and simply arrange it myself. I am fully included in the Thai hospital package for 75 euros per year. I have Thai driving licenses, yellow booklet, etc., everything I need. Thailand has become my 2nd Father Lab.
    Am now 74 years old

Jan, may I know which Thai hospital package you have?

@jan luck: I do think you are an exception. If you are married you will receive 750 euros per month Aow = ThB 31 thousand, at the moment, and almost 400 thousand on an annual basis. What you don't say is that in addition to all the papers mentioned, you also have a bank book with savings with you. At least with an amount of ThB 400 thousand. Only then will you receive your (married) visa again. Please tell the whole and honest story, otherwise you put people who are new on the wrong track, and you put yourself aside / excepted.

Moderator: Your comment should be about the reader's question.

      • Hans K says up

Soi also pay attention and see what Poo also says.

For married couples, the income/savings of 400.000,00 thb is sufficient.

So the AOW benefit for married couples is 8.400,00/year is 350.000,00 thb.

So if you have a little more than 1.250,00 in savings, you are already there.

  17. Poo says up

If the farang is married to a Thai woman, the amount only needs to be 400.000 bhat and not 800.000... And that 400.000 bhat does not have to be fixed but may be the sum that is equivalent to, for example, the income... that could be the pension. .or other benefit….good luck!
