Reader question: Looking for a nice hotel on Koh Samui
Dear readers,
I'm looking for a good hotel such as Villa Oranje in Pattaya, but then on Koh Samui. I'm looking for something cozy with a nice breakfast and swimming pool and located in such a way that you are not too far away from the nightlife in the evening.
Arrive in Pattaya on December 5th where I will stay for a week and then I would like to go to Koh Samui. Would like to visit the waterfalls there and the nature reserve for nice pictures.
Can someone give me advice and also where you can eat delicious Thai food with locals?
Thank you,
Frank
Jan van het hart in plailam you can enjoy delicious Dutch food. Tasty croquettes.
Hi Frank.
Montien House right on the beach on Chaweng Beach has been excellent to me.

Have fun in advance.
Jan.
Papillon Resort
Best ,
Z HOTEL Chaweng Beach , close to local eateries , close to beach !
Chaweng Garden Beach Resort, in the heart of Chaweng. Top location, good breakfast pool and on the beach.
If you don't like the big crowds and still want to have everything at hand: beach, good restaurants, good local food: take a look at Lamai Beach…. The Lamai Wanta Resort/hotel offers just about everything you imagined: on the beach, its own swimming pool and the entire entertainment center accessible at walking pace.
Try marina villa on Lamai beach! We just came from, is a really nice hotel, not too big, but 2 swimming pools and right on the sea. The shopping street and bars etc are at the exit of the hotel, couldn't be better!
Don't forget to visit Koh Phangan, we actually found it even more beautiful than Samui.
Michiel
Frank refers in his question to a hotel “like Villa Oranje in Pattaya”, where the price per night is approximately 1000 baht.
So it makes little sense, Jan, to recommend a hotel that is three times as expensive.
Advising someone is nice, of course, but the advice must be in line with the expectations of the question.
Willem
Just a few tips about Samui.
chaweng can be noisy. Fireworks and advertising cars and boats passing by every minute.
lamai is a bit quieter.
bangrak/plai laem are slowly being built up a bit.
Between chaweng and lamai are 2 small bays. Coral cove and silver beach. Both 5 minutes from chaweng and lamai. Really tropical beaches with relatively few people. Coral cove has a few small resorts that are also not too expensive.
hello richard
You only recommended resorts in Coral cove and silver beach which????
greetings
Frank
