Dear readers,

Who knows how high a fence or fence can be legally in Thailand? Or has this not been arranged at all in Thailand?

With kind regards,

Alberto

Hello, it is different in every province, in Chonburi it is 3 meters, if you want higher you have to go to the government for permission. This is my experience.

I live in Phon and there you can decide for yourself which one is ours 1.50 then you can also look away from you and that's how you make it higher then it's as if you don't want anything to do with the neighborhood Gr martin

And that talks about integration, why a Berlin wall around your house, I wonder!?
Here in Isaan I only have a fence of pasture posts and barbed wire for the buffalo, and in my "open" garage with a whopper of a workbench, because I like tinkering with old cars and mopeds, it is full of tools day and night. and all kinds of other stuff, and never, in all the years, have I lost anything, even better, the local people always ask me or my wife first when they need something, That's why... my point of view is... you build a high wall around your house is asking for trouble!

Indeed, as if you want nothing to do with the neighborhood.
Moreover, a high wall gives a false sense of security. Once any burglars are over/behind the wall, no one will see them and they can go ahead. Social control of neighbors, which is very strong in my village (everyone sees everything 🙂 ) doesn't work anymore. You better get a good watchdog. (I have 2, although they still help open the door, if someone wants to break in.) But they can bark loudly 🙂

That is comparing apples with pears. I also have a house in Isaan and have no fence or wall at all. But I have a bungalow in Pattaya, where I do have a 3 meter high wall, the gas bottles were stolen from the garden and broken into 2 times , which doesn't bother me at all in Isaan. If I go shopping in Isaan, I don't close anything either, but you don't have to do that in Pattaya.

A separation wall may be built up to 3 meters high without a permit, Rayong district. If there is any uncertainty about this, it is advisable to check with the municipality in advance.
You do need permission from the owner of the adjacent land if you want to place the wall on the boundary. If you don't ask for permission, you have to move 50 cm. pull up the wall from the property boundary.
Never noticed any dissatisfaction of neighbors about a separation wall that is 2.20 high and that means you don't have a Berlin wall, it just depends on where your house and the wall are, what kind of neighbors do you have, what's in your surroundings buildings, how big is your terrain, how high is the ground raised, etc.
A wall for your privacy can do no harm, my neighbors have no problem with it and I don't with the neighbors. A few watchdogs can do no harm, if they bark at danger it's fine, the fact that you have dogs running does deter you. With a wall and good fencing you keep the street dogs off your yard and you don't have continuous fights between the street dogs and your dogs and you considerably limit the risk of rabbies.
