Home » Reader question » Reader question: Golf contacts and/or tips for affordable golf in Hua Hin
Dear readers,
I am looking for golf contacts and/or tips for affordable golf in Hua Hin.
Next October/November I will go (alone) to Thailand again and, as I always do, want to play golf again.
I normally do that in the region around Pattaya. There I join one of the many golf groups and can therefore play golf for a very attractive price and transport has also been arranged.
Golfing in Hua Hin is much more expensive and that is why I am looking to join a golf group or other possibility to play golf for a reasonable price.
Who has a good tip?
Thank you in advance.
Willem
Sabai sabai golf shop in Hua Hin gives a nice discount on green fees has a website
Jan, can you indicate where this shop is located in Hua Hin? We are in Hua Hin at the beginning of December and want to play a few rounds of golf and a discount on the green fee, please…
Dear Willem,
For years I have had a travel agency in Thailand where I organize private trips for up to 8 people. Since I golf, about 6 years, I also organize golf trips to Cha Am and Hua Hin.
I work with someone in Cha Am who picks up the people for me from the airport and accompanies them during their stay and golf trips. There is also a golf club that organizes a competition every 2 weeks for their members on various golf courses in the region. Mainly from Scandinavia, but Dutch people are also members of this club.
In short, for details mail me but it seems otherwise, or is it surreptitious advertising.

hi william
I'm also going to Thailand in November After Thai friends I'm Dutch myself I can ask them about the golf because my girlfriend has family living in Hua Hin
greetings ingrid
Please,
You may also reply privately [email protected]
Hi Willem, stayed at the Seajays resort just outside Hua Hin last year. Run by a very friendly and laid back Englishman, many people came there to play golf (there is also an original bowls - not bowling - alley). The rooms and resort are really great and only cost 700 bht in high season. For questions you can contact us at [email protected] or search on booking.com for Seajays resort Hua Hin.
Through the golf club and in this season you pay an average of 800 – 1200 baht green fee including caddie fee. Caddy tip is up to you.
Alex,
Which Golf Club are you referring to? I play a lot of golf in Pattaya and there the green fee is 700-1100 baht if I go with a golf group from one of the many golf bars. I know that in the Hua Hin region as a single player and certainly from November 1 it is very much more expensive.
The Hua Hin Golf Society offers guest players the opportunity to participate in their golf days. Ask for Bernie's Bar in downtown HH.
Hi Willem, You could register with the Dutch owner of: http://www.longbeach-thailand.com/golf.html (Dolhin Bay, 35 km below Huahin). A number of expats are affiliated with it and the Dutch owner regularly coordinates trips for an attractive price.
At the end of the bay you can also play on the military course (9 holes). In Sam Roi Yot National Park. Beautiful views of the mountains. Not a great job maintenance wise. Difficult, 7 of the 9 are spicy long waterholes but nice to hit. 200 Thb
And then there is the Military track about 15 km below Huahin towards Pranburi where you can play for approx 800 Thb. Nice job. The bus from Huahin will stop for you if you ask the driver. Walk past the military guards to the end, where the clubhouse is.
Thanks for the tip. Super.
If you want to play golf cheaply and on a beautiful course, come to Kanchanaburi.
We have about 10 courses here in the province including Nichigo, Midagolf, Bue Sapphire, Evergreen, where you can play golf well and cheaply.
Good hotels and resorts, including the Oriental Kwai Resort, owned by a Dutch Thai who also plays golf.
I have joined the Cha-am Golf club when I am on holiday and play golf I get a discount on the green fee.
The internet address is http://www.chaamgolfclub.com you can find everything there.
Competitions are also organized on different courses and that is always fun.
Have fun golfing.
aad,
During a competition 2 years ago I participated with my son at Palm Hills and won, keeping the Dutch honor high. My little boy the neary!!!!
Cozy club.
William ,
We have been going to Pattaya and Jomtien for a number of years. We are also interested in how and where we can join the many Gol groups ?
Theo,
That's really easy. Check out the website pattayapeople.com and find the menu item Features and there under golf section. There is the weekly schedule where all 18 golf groups play, per day. The contact person is also listed with telephone no.
Good luck and maybe see you on the golf course. 😉
Dear Theo,
I read that you have been going to Pattaya for a number of years, then the PSC (Pattaya Sport Club) is the outcome, look at the side, there are all options to play golf, if you become a member you get a discount everywhere and also all bars where there are is played almost every day and the prizes are listed. Then every last Wednesday of the month there is the “Pattaya amateur tournament” Very well organized for 1.600 bht with BQ. Look on the side. If you come near Nakhon Ratchasima, you can always join us FB
( Khorat Golf Society ) the free is 50% cheaper here than in the tourist places.
Have fun golfing.
The information of pattayapeople.com comes from PSC. Only at PSC is the contact persons less clearly stated. Furthermore, it is certainly not always necessary to be a PSC member to get the good prices. First inquire locally with the group. I have been playing with various groups for 3 years and at least 20 – 30 times a year and I am still not a PSC member.
