Reader question: Experiences with “basic”, preferably directly on the beach of Chumphon
Hallo,
I've been reading the newsletter for a long time and thought: now I'm asking my question on "my" Thailand blog.
We have been in Thailand for years, especially on the islands. First Samui, then 6 years on Koh Payam. Looking for peace and authenticity. Now we think it would be nice to be near the beach, but with an interesting "hinterland". Choice fell on beaches of Chumphon. Found out a lot about that. We are looking for experiences with “basic”, preferably right on the beach. So no resort from Agoda or anything.
I'm very curious!

Dear Joke,
From White Sand Beach restaurant a kind of boulevard / road starts directly along the coastline. Rental houses are offered on this stretch, which is about a kilometer long. I can't give you the names, maybe you can google them.
Thanks! I had already found it. In my experience, the very small resorts often do not have a website, hence my question.

Hi Nerin,
You are right: what is basic? For example, we don't need air conditioning, a fan is enough. Price 400-500 Bath. Preferably ON the beach. E.g. Hat Thung Wua Laen. We arrive by train to Chumphon and stay for about 4 weeks. Thanks for contributing ideas!

Als jullie van “basic”houden google dan eens op Hat Mae Ramphung. Ligt ong. 12 km buiten Rayong. 10 km andere kant op zit je in Ban Phe waar je de overtocht kunt maken naar Ko Samet. Wil je en dagje drukte: Pattaya ligt op 60 km er vandaan. Het is een strand van 11 km lang en bijna geen toeristen. Alleen wat overwinteraars.Je moet er geen echt uitgaansleven verwachten, maar hou je van strand/zee en rust, perfekt daar.
