Dear readers,

My wife and I have decided to move back to Thailand in early 2019. My wife is from Bangkok, but we are going to live in Hua Hin. Through her family we can move into a fairly spacious house during the first year. We then have enough time to orient ourselves further.

We would like to take all of our household goods with us to Thailand. It concerns all furniture of our living room, bedroom, dining room. Plus all kitchen utensils: pots, pans, cutlery, equipment, etc. Furthermore, of course, clothing, bedding, towels, etc. etc. Acquaintances of ours have told us that there are companies that can ship all that stuff in a container by ship to Thailand. People come to pack it all at home, put it down in Hua Hin and unpack it.

We are very curious about the experiences of people who have already made such a move? How does something like that happen? Which company is recommended? Does such a shipping-shipping take a long time? At what cost? Is it going well on the Thai side and expectation?

It has also become clear to us from hearsay that such a company handles all formalities of clearance and customs. That would make hiring a moving company very attractive.

We would like to hear reactions from people who, as mentioned, have already completed a move like this.

Thanks in advance for responding.

Regards,

Ralf

We did not ship complete household goods, but we did ship a few cupboards, some kitchen appliances, books, crockery and a number of beautifying things. About 4 cubic meters in all. We had that done by Windmill Forwarding. They came to collect everything, also packed some fragile things, and then kept everything in storage until we had a definitive address in Thailand. After we said they could ship it, it was delivered to your home 6 weeks later. (If you don't have a full container, you depend on when they have enough customers together to fill a container before they ship it. According to the statement, delivery would usually take 3 to 6 weeks.) You get a neat quote and the costs are indeed including all costs of customs clearance and such, so there were no surprises. http://www.windmill-forwarding.com/. We were very satisfied with it.

I also used Windmill 2 years ago for a door-to-door forwarding of 2 cubic meters and I really liked it.Price and quality and no additional import costs…

We also had everything shipped to Thailand in 2008, you often hear people say that it is better to throw away the old stuff, but many things in Thailand are probably made just to look at, but they don't arrive because then they are already broken. Good stuff. and quality tools are significantly more expensive in Thailand than in the Netherlands. We had the opportunity to place a container in our house and we loaded it to the brim in a few days. We had the container (one time used) in Rotterdam bought it, after it was brought back to Rotterdam, it was in Thailand after 4 weeks. A company placed them here again on our land. The container is still in use as storage space, which is allowed here in Thailand. If we had to do it again, we would. we did it in exactly the same way because it all went great (except for a small problem with bribes, but yes you know that in advance, this is Thailand) We spent just under 5000 euros for the entire operation and that is also what you buy in Thailand no decent and solid household goods for .Good luck with the move!!

I highly recommend Windmill forwarding. The handling in both the Netherlands and Thailand was perfect for me and the price very acceptable. They are also flexible in making appointments. Good luck with the move.

http://www.windmill-forwarding.com moved everything with us, customs clearance and everything calculated in advance with invoice for costs and no extra costs afterwards, 6 weeks.
However, I did the packing myself, except for a few large pieces and with family here with a truck picked up the goods at the office in Bangkok.
Everything perfectly arranged with Windmill-Forwarding in the Netherlands and Thailand.

    Dear,
Before you move I advise you to use forwarding windmill. Your goods are collected at home with a number of people and unloaded at the door in THAILAND. I recommend that you list the contents of each moving box on the box itself and on paper. This in Dutch, English and Thai. The entire move of my 16 cubic meters cost 3000 euros. And you can sleep soundly. No additional costs or customs costs. More info [email protected].

I can also wholeheartedly recommend Windmill (Rotterdam). I moved with it two years ago and very satisfied with the price and the handling of the entire process. They work in Thailand with an excellent transport company, everything is delivered on the day you have chosen, they unpack what you indicated and also take the packaging with them. In short, real service! In any case, let them make you an offer!

    Read the above;

So Windmill, but FedEx is of course also possible, fast and very expensive.

I can recommend Windmill Forwarding, I left the Netherlands 2 years ago and that company arranged everything neatly, had 27 cubic meters in total, the costs included door to door. insurance 6100 Euro

I have good experience with Transpack. Windmill is also good, but the price of Transpak was considerably lower than Windmill. Everything was well taken care of and packed. We also did not have to do anything for the required paper mill. The handling in Thailand also went very smoothly. good. You have to put everything in your wife's name, if it is in your name then you will have problems with the handling in Thailand. Then you will pay a lot of fees when clearing customs. Gr Arie.

Two years ago we moved 6 cubic meters of household goods to Thailand. Quote requested from three companies in Belgium and the Netherlands. Windmill Forwarding gave the lowest price. The service was very good. Goods picked up at home and delivered to your home in Thailand. Sea transport can be followed day after day via website. Top service, both with the agent in the Netherlands and in Thailand.

We moved 6 years ago with the entire household effects with Transpack ( https://www.transpack.nl ).
40 Ft container all together for 2300 euros and a 600 euros insurance.
Packed everything myself in NL and had the container placed in front of the door for 24 hours and packed myself with acquaintances.
(costs a bit extra, otherwise you only have 2 or 3 hours to load).
Arrived 6 weeks later and unpacked again within 3 hours. An acquaintance had chartered 10 men who came to help for Thb 500 pp and food and drink.
Everything is neatly handled by an agent in BKK, fa Boonma.
Very satisfied and neatly treated and everything handled.
Be careful when drawing up the packing lists. Tax-free, for example, only 1 TV is allowed, but you call the other one, for example, Gamescreen etc.
We actually didn't know that, we had 3 TVs on the list and some other things that were not covered by the tax-free regime and had to pay a total of about Thb 30.000. Not under the table, but just neatly with a receipt.

I also want to send a lot to Thailand at the beginning of 2019. Maybe an idea to take a 40 foot container together. Is not much more expensive than a 20 footer.

You may email to [email protected]

Oh I want to send stuff via Bangkok to Cha-am and to Uttaradit.

I requested quotes from both transpack and windmill three months ago.
Given the quote, I think Windmill is better. (not cheaper)
