Home » Reader question » Reader question: Experiences Air Asia from Thailand to Bali?
Dear readers,
I would like to know what the experiences are with Air Asia and if there is an alternative to go from Bangkok to Bali and back.
This is part of the trip I want to make from December to mid-March.
Yours faithfully,
Aad
We have flown with Air Asia several times in recent years from south to north Thailand and from Bangkok to Vietnam, we think it is a good price-quality ratio. The only thing you have to take into account is that the ticket price applies to a luggage weight of up to 15 kg, if I remember correctly, with more kilos you have to pay extra, although these are not huge amounts.
I've done this trip a few times, with AirAsia, BKK-Den Pasar, and it's great! Only the time, around 6 o'clock in the morning, I find less, and mind you: now only from Don Muang.
Already flown to Bali 2 times during 7 weeks of holidays, great company.
Don't be shocked by the hotel prices compared to Thailand and booking via the internet……..
I flew 1 time with air asia to bail. Legroom a bit tight(am 190), but the flight isn't too long. No service on board. If you still want to go from Bali to Borobudur on Java, you can also go with Tiger airlines, also a low-cost airline. Same comment as on Air Asia.
Traveling with Airaisa in very comfortable and qualitatively a very good price-quality ratio.
The only restriction for a low price is to book early and/or take advantage of their regular promotions/
It is also best to book meals in advance
no drinks or meals on board but the prices are just very low.
Baggage costs:
Hand luggage up to 8 kg is free. For other luggage you have to check in. You pay for this.
You also do this early on the website, you then pay a lower price than at check-in.
You can also check in online.
Booking a seat also costs a fraction.
A check mark is automatically placed for a type of travel insurance. This is not mandatory and you can tick it off.
Delays are almost non-existent.
On the 24 flights I made there was 1 delay.
So just fly with Airasia
Air Asia is a low budget flyer!
The price is very attractive and traveling is very pleasant at this price.
Luggage is good to take with you at an attractive price.
In short.....fly from Bangkok to Den Pasar VV in about 4 hours for just over € 217!
Have a good trip!!
Hello Aad, I myself have a good experience with flying from Bangkok to Denpasar (bali).
I also did this 2 years ago with my wife, but book on the internet otherwise it will be an expensive ticket and be careful what you check because the starting amount is low, but if you check everything it will be an expensive joke, I was € 350 lost for 2 people return flight so that was not too bad compared to Thai air success.
Maybe a tip for people who still have to book for Bangkok-Denpasar with Air Asia, the earlier you book the cheaper, difference between booking now for November 2013 is approximately € 185 pp. Did you book in April or May approx. €100 pp!! (return).
I fly monthly with Airasia
everywhere for insane
low prices. Book well in advance
and keep an eye on the offers.

Flew from Phuket to Bali with Air Asia last year. I thought for 124 Euro for a return ticket. The only thing that bothered us are the meals that you have to reserve and pay for in advance.
Have flown with Air Asia a number of times. Great company and definitely value for money. Flight from Bangkok to Denpasar takes 4 hours. Daily flight departure from BKK at 06.15:12 AM. Return flight from Denpasar departure at XNUMX noon.
You have to pay for catering, but this is also the case for most airlines within Europe. Catering is reasonable in price. I take my sandwiches in the machine and then order a drink.
Modern and new fleet, model Airbus 320.
I have flown a lot with low-cost airlines in Europe (Ryanair, Easyjet, Germanwings, etc...) but Air Asia is a class higher.
Thanks everyone for the response I'm going to book now.
Sincerely, Aad de Jong
In terms of passenger numbers, AirAsia is twice as large as, for example, KLM. Know that the prices are less than half and that they use the entire airport in both Kuala Lumpur (LLC) and BKK (Don Muang), for example, then there is an airline there.
Air Asia is low budget idd max 15 kilos you can buy extra kilos with your booking. Same idea as ryan air. They get their earnings from all the extras, such as choosing a seat, food and drinks, insurance, extra kilos, etc. I will doubt Bali itself. I found it very busy, touristy and Lombok in terms of culture and nature many times more beautiful. Happy Holidays. Regards, Chantal
In 2009 I flew with Air Asia from Bangkok to Bali visa versa. Total costs were then 129 euros, so nice and cheap.
Just enjoy low budget flying, few frills. I found Bali very busy, but in terms of price level it was roughly comparable to Thailand. I found cheap hotels on Kuta Beach, poppies 1 and 2.
