Covid-19 rapid test on departure to the Netherlands at the airport in Bangkok?
Posted in Reader question
Tags: Bangkok, Covid-19 rapid test, Entry conditions in the Netherlands, Airport
Dear readers,
My stay in Thailand ends next week. Before departure, a rapid test of a maximum of 24 hours old must be submitted on departure (or a PCR test of a maximum of 48 hours on departure).
Does anyone have experience doing that at the airport?
Place, costs, lead time?
Thank you.
Regards,
Kidney
Editors: Do you have a question for the readers of Thailandblog? Use it contact form..
As described by me before, you can have a rapid test done at the airport of Bangkok, a rapid test costs 500-550 bath. You can find this test location on the ground floor, so take the escalator down because the departure hall is on the top floor.
A rapid test is sufficient for the Dutch government and KLM, but if you fly with another airline, they may require a PCR test, for example. So check before departure what the requirements are.
KLM does not ask for a test.. prices for test airport differ..is per hour, the result...shorter waiting is more expensive
Edwards, incorrect, this is on the KLM site (traveldoc).
View the latest Covid-19 restrictions on our Covid-19 Info page.
Test: Passengers aged 12 and over traveling from an area outside the EU/Schengen zone must have a negative NAAT test (PCR, RT PCR, LAMP, TMA and mPOCT) result taken within 48 hours before boarding, or a negative antigen test result, performed within 24 hours prior to boarding.
If you fly with KLM to Amsterdam, a test is mandatory. If you fly to Belgium with KLM, a test is not mandatory. Everything depends on what your destination is.
Don't understand your reaction Eduard?
Question is: Covid-19 rapid test on departure to the Netherlands at the airport in Bangkok?
My response is to the question asked, your answer is very incoherent…..
Is it also possible to have an RT-PCR test done at that test location in the airport (price)? I currently have an appointment at the Thai Travel Clinic (2600THB), but if it could be done at the airport it would be much easier as I am staying near the airport.
I was there myself on January 7 for a rapid test. They had a price list and I saw several possibilities for PCR (including faster results for a higher price). Unfortunately I did not see all the amounts so quickly, but you can call them directly (also in English): 084-6604096.
I did a test for my wife on the 11th, a rapid test, no PCR test on the 1st floor, took about half an hour and cost 550 bath.
I have some old experience. Mid-December 2021, so over a month old. There was a temporary building of samitivej hospital at exit 3 of the international airport, so subarnabumi, exit where the taxis are. PCR or rapid test could be taken without an appointment. You could pick up PCR after about 10 hours and you could pick up Rapid Test. I took the PCR test at 9 AM and picked it up at 3 AM.
Don't know if this is still there. It was not possible to see it when I arrived last week and I did not pay attention to see it. Google or call!
yes, still there
