Home » Reader question » Reader question: Is renting a condo in Pattaya more affordable than a hotel?
Dear readers,
Last year, and like the previous years, I booked a hotel in Pattaya. A young Thai girl asked me what I paid for the hotel. I replied with 950 bth per night for total 17 nights.
She smiled after me and indicated that I would be much cheaper by renting an apartment / studio. This would cost 8000 bth apart from electricity and water? Let say with electricity and water 12000 bth? Don't know the exact prices, but here you already save 6000 bth
So my question to you is, who knows a centrally located Apartment/studio in Pattaya? I like all information.
Well girlfriendly apartment / studio then. With TV. Safe (not necessary). Air con
What can I expect? What should I take into account?
Please share your tips and recommendations.
Greetings,
Thaia dict
I think you can easily spend that 12000 on rent, including electricity for the frequent use of the air conditioning. So for 17 days it is Bath 16150. The difference is Bath 4150 and then divide by the unfortunately bad exchange rate of Euro 39 = Euro 106. Question: will you use that money to clean your room, bed, etc yourself during the holidays? Another important tip: don't be naive and don't be so quick to believe those sweet, beautiful Thai girls. Then you will be able to have a nice holiday.
I myself rent a condo in Pattaya for 15.000 baths per month (without water and electricity), but this price includes room cleaning twice a week, a nice swimming pool and a new fitness room.
am also looking for a condo in central pattaya myself.
got a response from someone who wanted 20.000 for the rent.
and 40.000 for deposit and transfer to western union.
like I was born yesterday.
condo was nice but was for rent for 65.000 a month,
with a 6 month contract.
but anyone who knows something nice up to 20k with cooking facilities can email me.
[email protected]
Thanks for your responses.
Have emailed a few people for more info
January 28, 4 weeks in Thailand to recover.
Greetings pete
when calculating, it is often forgotten to include the price of cleaning, washing of sheets (which has to be done more often here due to the higher temperatures than in the cold homeland), towels and air conditioning. And then I don't count the "comfort" because you can't put a realistic price on that..... dragging the sheets, towels to the laundry, for example. The savings, especially if it only concerns one month or less, will be minimal .

I rented a condo in Jomtien at the time, Shining Star Complex (Jomtien Plaza). Then you are just outside Pattaya, but you can easily go there with the Bahtbus, but you are within walking distance of Jomtien beach.
That was 750-850 per night, depending on whether you come more often, yes or no, and high and low season, etc. Was cleaned once every 3 days and was fully furnished, including cooking utensils, etc. Many of those condos have a falang owner who lives there. comes once a year and the rest of the time it is rented out. The complex also had a swimming pool, wifi, fitness room, etc.
Girl friendly is not an issue. A condo is not a hotel, so you can take anyone with you. There may be differences in the design, of course, I found one with a modern design, large 1-inch LCD TV, etc. and rented from the landlord, so just always the same. These condos are usually rented out by an agency and you can often request photos in advance.
Rental went through an agency called Tacs.Asia, if you look up Dararat Nuanbandan on Facebook you can contact them and they will arrange the rental.
Quality resort @ pattaya hill is a beautiful place and a very large room (40m²) with all the trimmings, we rented this for 15000 p / m including clean beds good p2 days.
This was 2010 (entire month of December)
in December 2013 we paid at SN Apartment (+66383707446 Moo.6 Pattaya Sai 3 Road, Naklua, Banglamung, North Pattaya) 850 thbt p/d which was a perfect place and spacious room (3 persons) and the staff very nice and helpful.
Later it turned out that I could also pay p / m 8000thbt excluding cleaning, but yes you always hear that later (you didn't ask for that anyway) which is typical Thai.
But next time we will definitely go back there and rent p / m
It doesn't necessarily have to be expensive. We have a guest room in Pattaya that we only rent to Dutch and Belgians (2500 baht / week)
Area 25 m2 with separate bathroom. There is an outdoor terrace and swimming pool and free wifi.

Best,
on arunothai , a side street of central road i paid 8000 bath for a studio , without water and electricity , that cost me 150 bath for water , and 800 bath for electricity at the end of the month .
the room was cleaned twice a week, had a nice balcony, spacious wardrobe, safe, wifi, flat screen, fridge with freezer compartment.
Success!
Dear Robert, you pay 15000 p / m without water and electricity, but cleaning 2x p / week, is that in the center? Can you also give me the name of the condo? What is the number of m2?
Mvg, Fernand
For a short period ; just take a hotel and you can save money by taking a hotel of max 750 baht / night, there are plenty of them!
It is often a coincidence that the Thai girlfriends know an apartment for you that is cheaper; more remains for them or tip money from the relevant complex, yes, nothing; the sun rises for that 🙂
Tip ; go to the beach / bar for an hour less and find a nice and affordable apartment / hotel.
Have fun!!
For 650 Baht you can also stay in a hotel in a great location, with a safe and mandatory delivery of the ID card of the ladies at the reception. Very safe.

Book this hotel in advance and not on spec.
The sign "full" is almost always on the counter 🙂
i know someone who has a condo for rent in jomtien pattaya view talay one. This has been completely renovated from last year, modernly furnished with all comforts. Flat screen TV, safe, equipped kitchen, internet, air conditioning, everything new. Apartment is cleaned once a week and white goods and towels are replaced. Rental all inclusive. Price depending on the period and duration. You can contact me by email [email protected].
hello on the other side of the sucumvit a friend of mine lives there very nice with balcony and security 3500 bath,
Take a look at the website of Sanya apartments. Centrally located and for rent for a very reasonable price.
Book early because occupancy rate is always high. Happy Holidays!!!
Dear reader,
Yes, it is indeed possible to rent a nice apartment with swimming pool and fitness room for 9000 baht, plus some electricity and water. You may have lost 10.000 baht.
This apartment is located in Naklua within walking distance of the beach and the baht bus taxi passes by.
For more info email Charli or Joshua van [email protected]
Greetings and success.
I rented a townhouse on soi 21a of 3rd road for a while.
Paid 100000 thb per year for a fully furnished house (sofa, dining table with 4 chairs, wall unit with TV, full kitchen equipment, washing machine, 2 double beds with new mattresses.) electricity approx. 1500 thb per month, water approx. 300 thb per month and once every 4 months a gas bottle for cooking.
I was in Pattaya near Toneys gym last month and I pay for a condo there between 3.500 and 5000 bath per month, including water, electricity and air conditioning. Do you have to clean yourself etc
Hi, do you have an address for that.
friend of mine has a condo for sale somthien beach asking price 2.400.000 bath well located on the 1st floor 48 square meters
Dear Willy, now that so many Russians can no longer pay for their condos, I would wait a little longer and maybe you can do a better deal. As always, it is a matter of supply and demand.
