Dear readers,

I have a question regarding the life certificate form. I am Belgian married since 2005 and have to fill in a form every year to prove that I am still alive. Now they do not want to accept the part intended for my wife and refer me to a Thai institution.

I have Belgian friends here and they had no problem with that, can you help me with this problem?

Regards,

Gery

I am also sending you the reply from the embassy:

Dear,

Regarding the stamping of the life certificate, we follow the instructions imposed by FPS Foreign Affairs and in force since 1/6/2015.

From that date, only the pre-printed form provided by the competent institution will be taken into account for stamping.

The applicant must be Belgian and may or may not be registered in the consular registers.
Non-Belgians are referred to the local authorities or their own representation. The pension funds stated that a medical certificate is not sufficient.

You understand that it was not because of unwillingness that we did not stamp your wife's document, but that we are merely following the instructions. We can only advise her to visit the Thai municipality, immigration services or the police to have the document stamped.

For the sake of completeness, the pension funds have been informed of these changes by FPS Foreign Affairs. You can therefore also contact the competent pension fund regarding this problem to find out what might be the best solution for your spouse.

As a Belgian, I usually have the form RVP life certificate stamped by immigration, and RVP service life certificates accepted that, costs me 200 baht to the receptive officer jomtien soi 5, but I go after 4 o'clock, then it is calm.
ht and no geode with sending or visiting BKK. Have you ever sent a doctor's certificate to the Embassy and was also accepted. Photo of you with recent krand date visibly accepted Amb.BKK also.
I would say, let the local police fill it in for your Thai wife and put a neat clear stamp on it, (officials think that's so nice...)

I have to send life certificate to pension fund Belgium every month (because pension is sent to Thailand)
I go to Jomtien immigration every time.
      Pay nothing!!!!!!
The one at the reception has tried to ask for 200 b but the service is FREE !!!
Just go all the way to the back right of a gentleman and he will.

I also receive the same form from SVB. After filling it in I go to the SVB office (Thai) in Chiang Mai. Been doing that for years, no problem. They stamp and also get a copy. Then you can send it to the competent authority yourself.

Jamro might want to give you the name and address of the French consul because we can also use that service. Thank you in advance.

Yes, I know from experience that she belongs there at the Belgian embassy can be difficult. Come with a life certificate, have worked in Belgium, but am a Dutchman. Never a problem, but now it comes
Go again a year later dys says that madame there, sorry, but we can draw it life, that is
only for Belgians registered here, but you can have it signed by the hospital, so no

    Get it
Get it back from Belgium with pay attention with a valid copy stamped on it, but it was not accepted write a letter with we don't speak the same language anyway, and means valid in my opinion
Fixed, agreed, etc. Just look into Van Dalen, no, they must have signed it by someone else
Authority I do not accept that and write to the ombudswoman for third state pensions,
No valid copy meant not valid then I gave it up and got it through another embassy
    Signed, never heard anything again,
does anyone understand it still valid copy but not valid, we don't speak the same language now

It is indeed the case that EVEN Belgians who are not registered at the Embassy ( ie not REGISTERED from Belgium ) can not obtain all documents ... .. limited list .

Apparently this method serves to counteract the "spontaneous disappearances" from the homeland without leaving an address ...
Personally , I have never had any problems with Concerning Embassy , provided my registration .

Just go to a police station. In Bangkapi (BKK) 10 years ago a stamp cost 20 THB, nowadays 100. The SVB also asks for Child Benefit, among other things. If you have travel insurance and something is lost or broken, take a witness with you to file a declaration, which also costs 100 THB and is sufficient to get compensation for the loss. Police stations are everywhere. They represent the Thai 'government agencies' and are always credible… well….

We go to the local police station and they stamp this without any problems for me and for my Thai wife. The pension fund accepts this without any problem!

Gery is Belgian and it is the Belgian pension service that determines what they accept and what not. I really don't see Gery's "problem". The attached letter is plain and simple: his wife, who most likely does not have Belgian nationality, must go to HER competent authority to get her part of the document stamped. Finally, Gery can also go there. Just go together to the municipality where you are registered and have it stamped and signed there. After all, the Belgian embassy is only competent for compatriots registered at the embassy and not for those who are not registered.

To be difficult? No, they are still easy somewhere. What will some say if they are suddenly confronted with the fact that they will also have to submit proof of residence at the same address? If you receive a “family pension” you are also obliged to live together, otherwise you are “de facto divorced” for Belgian law and you are not entitled to the higher family pension. They can therefore also ask to prove this. As far as I know, there are several, which have been separated for a long time, but still receive the family pension nicely. Thanks to all cheaters who make it harder and harder for the non cheaters. ( by which I do not mean that Gery belongs to this group )

As a Belgian, my husband has no problem with it. Since he also receives part of his pension from Luxembourg, he has to send a life certificate twice. We have no problem whatsoever with the Belgian embassy. Send the document with the photo by email. Get it back neatly by email. Doesn't cost a penny. Don't even go out the door. Then I print it - My husband signed it and I send it to Belgium by post. Well, if that's all the effort you have to put in once a year.

I understand very well the letter from the embassy. Is only for Belgians
