Reader tip: New excellent restaurant in Pattaya
Dear readers,
It is not so much a question as a useful piece of information for expats. In short, I have lived in Pattaya for many years and regularly eat out with my Thai wife. Not often at the same place but everywhere else to make it not monotonous.
Now a new restaurant has opened in the Soi Siam Country club. It's called ID.NET. The restaurant is just across the street from the big power station about 6 km from Sukhumvit on the right hand side.
The food there is excellent and has not been eaten so well for a long time, the service is perfect, as are the plates and cutlery and the extensive menu (Thai meals). Absolutely not expensive. So between 100 and 250 Baht. Absolutely recommended I write this because they do their best to have everything perfect. Which I really appreciate. The telephone number is 091-4946369
Yours faithfully,
Cees
I often notice that people who go out to eat and pay 100 to 250 baht find it very cheap. In the Netherlands everything is very expensive, and if you compare that. My holiday spot is Udon, I eat there a lot, often for 30 bath pattai with an egg for about 40 bath, and nice water as much as you want for free. If you are going on a long holiday, these are nice prizes.
Gr. Tjerk,
An egg at 10 Baht is expensive! 30 Baht without 40 Baht with egg... Don't go on holiday there for too long I would say...
If you go out to eat in a restaurant with your wife, 100 to 250 Baht is not much and then you have more than a 40 Baht plate, which is certainly not enough for me. Not even in Udon.
Water (thawed ice) is almost always free or it has to come from a closed bottle and the fish especially love that.
Thanks Cees for the tip. Going to Pattaya soon and maybe try out your tip.
Have a look/eat there too. In January and February we had a lot of and also a nice breakfast at the bakery of Holland Tulip resort, also at the Soi Siam country club, but the service there leaves much to be desired.
