Home » Reader Submission » Submitted: Good news for football fans in Thailand
Dear compatriots,
There is good news for football fans in Thailand. Many will have noticed it already, but for the rest the following.
As of May 1, 2014, PSI has launched a football channel. It's about the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
With my PSI digital receiver in Thailand I receive beautiful images and sound of a sublime quality on my HD TV.
Unfortunately, the commentary during the games is still in Thai. Hopefully that will change too.
The World Cup on PSI Satellite is on channel 222.
Lots of viewing pleasure!
Chander
Dear Chander, Thank you for informing us that PSI has opened a football channel. many of us will enjoy it. But,… say the name of that channel. The number 222 doesn't mean much because the satellite throws out updates and upgrades every few days, mixing up the channels again. Searching by name is then easier to do. Thanks in advance.
For the sake of completeness: name is world cup hd –
satellite is thaicom 5
channel name is World Cup HD.
Dear Dirk,
Thanks for the additional information. I think it has become clearer now.
If anyone has any questions about how this works exactly, it is better to contact a PSI shop. They know all about that. They will advise you which dish and which receiver you need for World Cup football.
I have the digital receiver from PSI and my dish is about 2 meters wide.
Hum, strange that it broadcasts in Thai. However ?
I watched the previous World Cup analogously with a whip antenna to a Lao transmitter. Now I live against Laos so the picture was not entirely bad. And understand? Sure enough, Lao and Thai have a lot in common.
So leave that Thai for the common people. They can't buy a subscription like we can. And I understand enough Thai and Lao to enjoy watching.
From Bald; Robbuh, Sgnaiderr, Koet, I can already hear it all. Wonderful.
Searched and …… unfortunately could not find. Maybe it will work before the start of the World Cup. Have PSI dish with PSI and Infosat receivers but nowhere to find this channel.
Hello, the European Championships & World Cup were always broadcast free to air in Thailand, which was usually the famous broadcast on TV, in the end the cable companies also had/were given permission to broadcast the signal, but the true vision image was that wasn't black then?
Jan
Is only for satellite receivers, so NOT all enthusiasts have that. Scots are banned at condomuniums and now that True is not broadcasting, it will be difficult.
Indeed it was true image when black they had and don't have the rights.
At the moment it remains to be seen. But it will work in the cafes.
May I ask a technical question? I'm as technical as an ironing board myself.
I see that 222 channel and it's called world cup. There's a dollar sign next to it, so that means pay TV.
I now have a 1.80 m (diameter) hole dish and a regular receiver, a box next to the TV. I assume I don't have HD with that.
HD, does that mean another box? I think so.
World Cup is pay TV so I will have to buy a subscription or a plastic card or something.
But is my regular dish with regular LNB suitable for HD?
Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow we will visit PSI, but Nongkhai is so far off the beaten track that information about the World Cup may not be available until October…..
For commentary in Dutch on the computer, add the live streaming of the Dutch radio station. Through http://www.nederland.fm
Have fun
Just to clear up a small misunderstanding, last European Championship was not broadcast by true visions because they did not want to pay the rights, the same happened with the English leak also because they do not want to pay, now they have played another trick with digital TV, with the normal decoder you get fewer channels, with an HD decoder, provided you have a platinum or gold pack, you can receive all sports and movies, otherwise you have to pay for these, just so you know, talking about clever guys, and just a gold pack costs 1568,12 bath per month excluding the HD decoder purchase 2000.bath but you will get that back at termination, connection costs dish 1000.bath, but all information is also on the internet under true visions, I wish you a lot watch fun.
