New maps have been added to Thailand Elite (Source: thailandelite.com). This includes a green card for 5 years with an extensive Health benefit plan, including COVID insurance. This for only 1.5 million Baht. Approx 42.000 Euros. But….if younger than 55!

Then a new card aimed at the people who invest at least 10 million in real estate. Condition no mortgage and hold for 5 years (prove this annually). It seems that they also want to promote that card through brokers and project developers.

And then…. to make it affordable for (not all) mere mortals, they have come up with the following update. Now for only ฿600.000 approx € 8.400, you have such a beautiful card for 5 years with 12 x entry and exit assistance per year. Wait wait… this is not all. From now on, this card can be upgraded to the 400.000-year card for only ฿ 20 additionally, which simply costs 1 million.

In my opinion, this makes it more attractive, after all, if I decide to go for the 4 years after 20 years, I can now do so with a much lower initial investment. Unfortunately I will have to wait for the Lotto draw to know if I will buy this card.

In addition to the regular "benefits" currently 10,000 ฿ discount at Kingpower (Euh.. sorry 😐 provided 75K spend).

Regular trips and meetings are now also organized for cardholders residing in Thailand. And now also help with the organization of your trip and ASQ hotels.

If we set up a purchasing organization via the readers of Thailandblog, a 30% discount can be received as a sales agency with 10 or more cards.

  1. Just to be clear, 'setting up a purchasing organization' is all done without the editors. We only place this call but will not play an active role. So Carlos will have to take care of that himself.

Carlos, reset your calculator! 600.000 Baht is really not 8.400 euros, rather 17.000 euros. Although it is best to keep hoping for such a beautiful course…

Carlos needs to learn math! 600.000 thb plus 400.000 thb is also 1.000.000 thb. So you are just as expensive with the upgrade.

      • Carlos says up

Yes, but only if you purchase the upgrade. And the first 5 years of airport assistance, the waveform to the supermarket entrance / exit. And therefore less high upfront investment.

          Wave shape —> wave car
          Supermarket -> lounge

To stimulate the economy and tourism, the Thai government should implement a policy to make the long stay of foreigners (4 months plus) more attractive; both tourists who want to spend the winter for a few months and foreigners who want to settle here permanently.
That policy hardly needs to cost any money because it mainly involves adjusting rules. And the costs pay for themselves because this – usually well-off – group of foreigners in Thailand behave like Thai tourists. And they probably don't spend as much per day as the short-term tourists, but they invest in movable and real estate and spend their money over a longer period of time, which promotes sustainability in Thai business.

    • Jannus says up

You are absolutely right, dear Chris, and that everything resembles the situation as it was before Corona arrived. Waiting for a return to these better times is from 2022.

      • chris says up

No Janus. What I mean is not at all like the situation before the Corona crisis.

I would like foreigners to be issued visas for at least 1 year with no additional conditions other than adherence to Thai laws, renewal online, no 90-day notices, freedom to start your own business, own real estate (land and buildings), get a tax number, be included in Social Security if you work, options for health insurance like the Thais have, options to make and finance investments.
I am convinced that such a regime that welcomes and invites foreigners to settle here (more or less permanently) will help the economy in the short term more than opening the country gradually for the 'real' tourists, because in view of the fear and the vaccination schedule then we have to wait until deep into 2022 as you also wrote.

I'm going to apply for it now, but still have to save a little more than 55555

    • Pjotr says up

      Dear Casper,

Do you have the money growing on your back?
Thai Elite is much too expensive for what you actually get in return and then only for 5 years and then you can start all over again.
Don't do it if you leave for Thailand legally and long term.
      1. buy a condo in your name,
      2. change your tourist visa to an annual non-O with a bank deposit of THB 800.000/- to a permanent address.
      3. it's done,

And that is an investment with everything in your name and which will only increase in value.

If you want this investment back, that's no problem.

      • Caspar says up

I'm starting a crowdfunding: immediately a good contract. I record my mutual rights and obligations. I make it clear what your rights are if someone makes money available to me.
It seems like a good idea Pjotr hope you take part in it too ??
But now I see that it only applies if you are younger than 55 years old, now I'm already over this age so I'll just leave it at the old.
We already have a condo in BKK, have a yearly visa every year, and a permanent address for 14 years, have to get my yearly visa next week, and invariably 1900 baht plus 100 baht in the drawer of the imm.
        With fr.gr Caspar

        • Claus Father says up

Casper, I see confusion all around with my eventual participation in crowdfunding ie I'm not that social if it's not urgent.
My stay in Thailand has been working itself for 10 years and without a thief from my own wallet
ie local investments have doubled in value during this period

No point in inventing a wheel now.

          • Caspar says up

Good morning, it may sound like something to shrug your shoulders about, but without humor your social life would also be a lot more difficult. “Humor makes interaction with others easier. Just think: if you didn't have it. Humor also helps to put things into perspective when things go wrong. And that wheel, yes, it has been there for some time 55555 Klaas Vader

If you have too much money, this is one possibility to get rid of it quickly.

Who knows if he will live another 20 years? So 20 years visa is a gamble.

Also, you are not sure if you will live another 10 years. Most farang here are 60+..

Even a 5-year visa extension is way too expensive. I pay here for 9.500 thb. Count out your profit.

Of course there will be people for whom this is attractive.

    • john says up

for those who can get a regular visa, this is probably not an attractive purchase.
But for the young rich, this is an excellent purchase. You are assured for 5 years of the possibility to enter without any problems and to stay as long as you want. Moreover, if you have this visa, you can go through the fast lane. Rich people seem to hate waiting. I'm not rich but I hate it too. However, I am 70+ so always use the fast lane.

This is also an answer for bobos who are the boss of an international company with a branch in Thailand. Otherwise, these important people will have to queue for emigration with the common people!

  6. PEER says up

    Hahaaaa,
For double the amount you buy a nice house and for three times you have a nice detached house.
And those who go here for at least 3 months are over sixty.
These are often baby boomers from just after WW-2.
They have their sheep in the dry with working or being smart.
You don't have to be stingy not to participate in this. If you're a bit smart, you can arrange your entry problems yourself within 5/6 weeks, and you'll also be in Thailand.
A little trader doesn't need that 10% discount at KingPower!!
If that Th Bth wants to spend 75000,00, he will arrange a better final amount, I will.

But Carlos, I'll let you set up a sales office.
Whether you gather 30 members together is a sign of organizational talent, success.

  7. Dirk says up

    I participate !
    Now 29 others…

  8. Louis Tinner says up

You should also mention that you are not allowed to work with an Elite Visa, you still do not have a Non B (business) visa or a work permit. So it's 5 years sitting on the beach.

  9. Mary Baker says up

Can you also use the Elite card if you already own real estate in Thailand?
