Reader Submission: Poor service and no warranty
A few months ago I bought a wheelbarrow on 2 pneumatic tires from GLOBE in Nakhon sawan. Nice, those soft tires drive much nicer. Suddenly two flat tires at the same time.
One could be glued and the other had to be replaced. That's where the problem started, how do you get a new inner tube? I return to the store, 35 km drive from my house. Arrive at the store and ask a member of staff for a new inner tube. And what does he say? We do not have. You can buy a new wheel. I find this ridiculous for a store that sells these wheelbarrows. He also says take a tuk-tuk in Nokhan Sawan and he knows it. What a service from GLOBE.
My question who knows where I can buy a small strap in Nokhan Sawan? Otherwise it will be buying a new wheelbarrow.
Recently I bought an air pressure gun at a stall in BigC without gas filling to chase those pigeons away. He says there is no warranty on it, but it was in a new box. And stupid of me I should have just let it try. Try it at home, dude. Back a week later and he says sorry no guarantee you knew that anyway. Day 1300 Baht. Conclusion sad that service in Thailand.

Last year we also bought a wheelbarrow in Thailand. My Thai step-in-law advised me not to choose pneumatic tires, but a full rubber wheel. The quality of pneumatic tires for wheelbarrows is said to be very poor. They are constantly leaking. The wheelbarrow rolls a little less well, but will still roll.
Be careful with an air gun. In Thailand, such guns are also covered by the gun law. It requires a permit, like firearms. Possession of a gun without a license can have dire consequences.
Buy a slingshot and practice on cans! Then success is assured!
Or hang strips of silver paper.
An option could be to submit your complaint to the Thai consumer association. I'm also quite curious how they're going to handle that.

However, it would be more logical to speak to Globe's manager on duty and ask how he/she intends to solve this problem, such as a discount or an alternative.
About that air gun. Yes, if the seller indicates before the sale that there is no warranty, then that is a wise lesson for the future and says little about the service level in general.
Last year I bought a hair clipper from Big C (Rama 2, BKK Bang Khun Thian) (THB 280,–, so cheap). Tried at home and the blades turned out to be totally blunt, so the hair was not cut, but plucked…..so painful. Back to BigC (which was very busy at the time) to get a refund, where I was told that the problem was known and I should have the knives sharpened at a hairdresser. After quiet discussion turned out not to help, but another, European, bow thrown and made a stench. Immediate money back….problem solved. It's a pity that it had to be this way and strangely enough, the same trimmers remained for sale in the store afterwards. That too is Thailand.
Turn the wheelbarrow upside down, remove the inner tubes, and fill it with pur foam via the valve hole, not perfect, but it works.
6 thumbs, your contribution is appreciated.
Is your solution an assumption or an experience?
Will the polyurethane foam harden in that closed space? I thought pur needs air to harden.
Will the polyurethane foam bounce after curing or will I get angular wheels when I drive over something?
After curing, does the pur become powder through use?
Questions questions questions
I'd like to know.
There are full rubber tires for sale for a wheelbarrow, I put them on 4 years ago (not yet punctured) and still very satisfied with them.
Jan where do you buy those rubber bands
I did too. I bought the rubber strap in Global House. Had to put a piece of pipe on both sides, because the wheel is narrower than the original. but other than that it works fine.
Other than that I am satisfied with the customer service. I had recently bought a hot water boiler at Home Pro (I had a "current leak", I had written an article about it), which I did not need, however. There was nothing wrong with the old one. I had to wait three weeks for my money (administration), but it was neatly transferred. A similar case with Global House, where I returned something and got my money back.
People are not used to it, but it is still possible. My wife bought a necklace from a shop in Hua Hin a few weeks ago. It turned out afterwards that what they told her and on the basis of which she had bought that necklace, was not correct. She was very sad and angry and thought she had lost her money. I was able to convince her to go to the store anyway and yes, she got the money back into her account…. So it's all possible.
Look and that's why I'm a fan of Lazada!

Great stories, if only the inner tube is concerned.
Let it or do it yourself, spray it full with ordinary grease. the tire does get a bit heavier but it doesn't leak anymore, you don't even need an inner tube. Where the valve comes through, you can then spray the tire full and seal it with a custom-made piece of wood.
Success assured
