Early in the morning of May 26, it was very busy at the entrance of the shopping mall Market Village in Hua Hin. Many pickups drove back and forth to unload their precious cargo. Many imposing cages with even more imposing dogs, the so-called Pitbulls and the smaller Bullies, found a quiet place behind the big screen to await their performance.

When using the word Pitbull's I have to explain something, Pitbull's are not dangerous dogs by definition, but are often bought by people who don't understand dogs in general to show them off and to walk around with them as a deterrent. Often lazy with quite a criminal streak. People who make these kind of dogs as fake as possible to make them fight each other in a so-called Pit, where there is a lot of gambling. Shortly afterwards, if they don't turn out to be winners, these dogs are simply injured and dumped by these unscrupulous people.

You can regularly see magnificent images of the rescue team in America that takes care of those dogs, socializes them, after which they look for a new better boss or boss. So far any explanation.

Kees with one of his champions, impressive appearance (I mean the pit bull

The dogs that come to this two-day event are adored by their owners, pampered and trained many hours a week or day. Dogs that descend from good parents quickly cost several tens of thousands of Baths and the resulting puppies 20 to 30.000 baths or more. So you will understand that these dogs are raised with the utmost care, nutrition and training in the hope that they will become the new champions.

While waiting their turn, many dozens of passers-by, young and old, man and woman, were persuaded to take a picture with the dogs of the Holland Pulling Team. Initially with some hesitation, but the very calm and confidence-inspiring dogs turned out to be quite capable of overcoming their fear and continuing with a nice photo or even a series and a good feeling.

That such a Pitbull in the heavier weight class can easily pull more than 5000 kilos of stones on a cart and more than 10 meters, will probably surprise many. With his enormous muscle mass, which will make an explosive effort after the start signal to reach the finish, under the emotional encouragement of their owner and the audience present.

For example, the many dogs, real powerhouses after being weighed and classified in their own weight class, are discussed. There aren't many Bullies I mean the smaller kind, short and stocky that do the pulling are more often pampered show dogs.

When the cart, weighted with no less than 9 adult men from the audience, is soon pulled 800 to 1000 kilos by such a small whopper of a dog over the route with success to the finish, there is a thunderous applause.

The writer of this article, Hans Vliege, nickname Yuundai with one of the champions

This is done to give the public a first impression of what their larger relatives will later bring to the fore at this free two day contest.

The often eye-catching performance of beautiful, long-legged and richly filled ladies in provocative sexy clothing considerably increases the interest of the many male spectators. These ladies in stiletto high heels provide the audience with a broad smile, including those spectators who follow the spectacle on the 1st floor, with "glamorous" comments during the shows, the competitions and the award ceremonies!

What was striking, the degree of Changbier. Chang who sponsored this party and was present with a beer tent, that there was a lot of drinking. Beer, whiskey and many liters of water.

Me as a member of the Holland Pulling Team, the only pulling team of Dutch origin in Thailand, owned by Kees Huizinga. Who won prizes with the 3 dogs entered by him, namely Rocky who is already twice champion of Thailand as 1st in the prizes in the category 35 to 39 kg and Ricky in the category weight 31-35 kg and a 3rd prize for SUSI in the weight class 24-28 kg.

The second day on Sunday, mid-afternoon the festivities were overrun by torrential downpours that would continue well into the evening, despite the less favorable conditions the competition for the heavier dogs continued. Followed by the awards ceremony in each category with a first, second and you guessed it third prize. The evening ended with the dismantling of the scaffolding and clearing away all kinds of stuff.

We as the Holland Pulling Team, the only one in Thailand, can look back on a successful event and will be present again next year. We from the Holland Pulling Team greet you. And I hope you too after reading this article, I will let the editors know early and give a brief explanation of what you can expect.

There are countless of these dogs in Rotterdam South. With bosses. To each his own, but I think it's more mouth than beast. This type of dog says a lot about the owner's personality, and if he is too weak in character these dogs go completely off the rails. Without an additional license due to proven training and annual exams, people should not be allowed to keep this type of dog.

As the writer of the article, I completely agree with Ruud010. I had the opportunity to work at the infamous PEPERKLIP on the south side for a few years, and I saw and spoke to a lot of these types of people. Often the dog was sold a few months later. I have a pit bull that grew up as a 6-week-old puppy with our daughter when she was 1,5 years old. Now two years later they play together, go into a small swimming pool together, live in Hua Hin Thailand, and all without supervision, they are “friends for ever” and I am and will remain the BOSS!

I don't know what the numbers are now, but a few years ago most dog bite accidents in the Netherlands were Poodles.

If you have been bitten by a poodle, it will hurt quite a bit, but it usually does not have disastrous consequences. It's a little different with a Pitbull. The bite force is gigantic.

For comparison (figures also several years old)

    German Shepherd 250kg/cm2
    Dutch/Malinois Shepherd 350kg/cm2
    Pitbull 700Kg/cm2
    Wild wolf 1.500Kg/cm2
    Hyena 3.500Kg/cm2

A Pitbull has by far the strongest bite of all common dogs.
Is a Pit Bull Dangerous? No, no more dangerous than any other dog. They are great family dogs that go unconditionally for the family. What makes it tricky is that Pitbulls are a bit stubborn. They don't have the huge built-in "please the boss" like a Malinois or a German Shepherd.

But they can be trained, and very well too!

    Are they fake?

No, not naturally, every dog can be cheated, and that is amazingly easy.

Dogs, in the hands of the wrong people is dangerous. But this also applies to cars, motorcycles and mopeds, and even children.

Last year I was able to meet Kees at his previous terrain near Korat and I also have a photo of me together with Rocky.
Was and still am positively surprised about the enthusiasm of Kees and his love for his dogs. And …..despite Rocky's terrifying appearance, not a penny of aggression to be found. class !

    Oh,

    Maybe a nice addition:

    A Great White Shark, 10.000-12.000 kg/cm2,
    A Poodle 40kg/cm2
    A human with teeth 12kg/cm2
    A human with hands 5kg/cm2

    Arjen.

@Arjen… we humans also have quite a bit of strength, don't we? But less than a small poodle?? I find that hard to believe.

    Indeed,
Pitbulls and Bullies also look very sweet and cuddly. Yesterday I saw a documentary from USA by Louis Theroux about these great dogs. Take a look at 'missed broadcast'!
In September I will come to Ubon R again for more than half a year, and I am very happy and reassured that there are no pit bulls there. At least, I've been coming there for about 8 years now, haven't seen them yet. Well, street dogs and they can do something about it too.
