Reader Submission: Our quarantine is almost over!
Quarantine is almost over for us. After the second negative test, we are allowed to stay in our hotel with some more 'privileges' (this is filled in a different way for each hotel).
After the first negative test, we were allowed to walk around outside, on the hotel grounds. Delicious. An hour and a half every day. Book in advance of course, control remains. Our plastic food bowls and plastic cutlery were also replaced by stainless steel and porcelain. What can you be happy about!
After this second negative test, we are allowed to eat outside in the hotel restaurant twice a day, use sports equipment, play tennis, and take a massage. We didn't see that one coming! Surprise. Of course at hotel rate, a different price than we are used to at the beach.
We have booked our local flight, Saturday we are finally back at our Thai base after 9 months!
All in all, the quarantine has not disappointed us. It's certainly not a vacation but didn't feel like a prison either. We were very happy with our balcony, from the first day we could sit outside.
The freedom to walk after the first test was a big plus. The sport and massage surprise after the second test is also nice. But the relief that we finally, inspected and re-inspected, can go to our place here, great!!
That's what we did it all for in the end!

which ASQ hotel did you have? We have just received the CoE from the Thai Embassy and will fly to Hua Hin on January 19, 2021 for 2 months…
We are in BKK, Anantara Riverside.
Tip, if you want to go here, ask for a room with a river view.

Aren't you afraid that the flights will be canceled or only necessary travel will be allowed?
I was supposed to leave on January 10 but am not sure if that is possible now.
Hi Wim, with which airline do you fly? I also want to go to Hua Hin where my girlfriend lives. Where can I find a list of ASQ hotels for quarantine in Bangkok?

Which hotel do you have, because I would also like a balcony.
On the thaiest site, the hotels with balconies are mentioned separately, under blog I believe.

Please note that having a balcony does not automatically mean that you can use it. Some hotels have closed the balconies. So ask carefully, if that is important to you.
