Reader submission: Noise nuisance in Isaan (photos)
In response to the reader's question "What can I do about the noise nuisance of my neighbor in Isaan?” Frans Nico sent two beautiful photos to the editors.
Frans Nico: “I also regularly come across touring cars with a sound system that AHOY would be jealous of. The whistle of a traffic control agent is really not heard by the driver and if such a bus drives behind you, you first think of an earthquake. But that's just how it is. Some know how to turn their sound system into a beautiful car… or is it the other way around. I took these pictures in Pak Chong”.
Beautiful pictures.
Would you be allowed on public roads in the Netherlands or Belgium with this?
lung addie
Yes, as long as it meets the entry requirements.
If I look at those razor-sharp edges, that car will most definitely not meet the admission requirements in the Netherlands.
It wouldn't really surprise me if that stereo car doesn't meet the (rarely applied) rules in Thailand either.
Well, there's not much you can do about it, I think I suffer from this too.
At 6 o'clock in the morning they come with a market and play the music loudly.
In the evening, 30 dogs giving away a concert.
And in the morning also the Thais who shout very loudly
So you just have to learn to live with it, good luck
Immediately remove from the road and only allow as a fairground attraction. Transport there by trailer.
Beautiful photos, Frans Nico, but is there no sound? (just kidding)
Now you can clearly see and hear where the minds of certain Thais lie, I don't think it's in their heads, because for the money this fair car costs you can buy a great stereo system at home and a lot of beer, or better yet 3 buffalo.
Very nice photos, another example of Thai craftsmanship. Whether it is all allowed and safe Ahhhh “Thise is Thailand”
Dear readers,
I mostly laughed at the comments.
The materials used are mainly plastic (plexiglass). Even the seats are made of strong plexiglass and have seat belts.
In the EU, a manufacturer receives a type approval for a new car model. A buyer/owner may tinker with that car as long as the car continues to meet the requirements set for the type approval and as long as (applied items) do not restrict the safety of the vehicle and other traffic. After all, the vehicle no longer meets the admission requirements. The same applies to the lighting. This may mean that the party lights may not be on when the “radio” is in traffic. But in Thailand other (lesser) rules apply.
The photos were taken by me a year ago because the vehicle shows a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. The maker was also very proud that I wanted to take pictures of it. By the way, I didn't make any audio recordings. But was not is can still come.
Another suggestion/advice to Tom (Reader question: What can I do about the noise nuisance of my neighbor in Isaan?): Rent the “radio car” once if your neighbor disturbs your peace again. Trust that it's over.
Bought such a car myself, the man urgently needed money, looked at the car and immediately saw that the basis was very good, apparently stood still more than driving it, closed the sale and immediately removed all the frills, have now an almost new Mitsubishi L200 as a second car for little, it does not add that I was able to sell the entire fairground stall of lighting and sound system, I love Thailand ^-^
this is beautiful.
