Following on from the article on this subject on Thailandblog last Friday, April 30, to which I have written some comments because I have already propagated that yellow vaccination booklet in this blog.

In it I described that I already had confirmation from GGD West-Brabant in February that adding the Covid vaccination would not be a problem; nevertheless, the same GGD informed me last week that they would not be credited. This was followed by my objection, which resulted in the promise that they would still be willing to provide that credit.

Today, May 3, I was allowed to take the test when I myself appeared for my first vaccination at GGD location Bosschenhoofd / airport Seppe (nowadays Breda International Airport 😊). And what happened will not surprise anyone: the first two employees there refused and I had to loudly (literally, because I no longer have much patience with this organization) and clearly tell them that I would still go to the doctor and that this behavior is unacceptable. is.

Eventually a senior employee came along and he wanted to give me the sticker. So I gave him my booklet and a little later he came back with indeed the sticker and the date (May 3); no dose, no stamp and no signature/scribble either. When I made a comment there, he still wanted to put his scribble (see attached photo).

Only when I got home did I find out that the stamp and even a name of the vaccination setter (GGD West Brabant) was missing. I am now going to pass this on to the GGD West Brabant that this is not possible after all, whereby I will also give them a copy of the booklet of an acquaintance in which they clearly see how it should be done. In other words, I, the "patient", now have to teach the GGD West-Brabant how to do it.

Are you curious about the experience with other GGDs?

I follow the discussion on the whole vaccination uncertainties on Thailandblog with great interest because I also have such a copy, also need to be vaccinated, and would also like to return to Thailand. But I still wonder if this book has any added value. Because a date, a vaccine name, a sticker, a stamp and a signature are requested, but what does the Thai immigration officer who checks my entry documents say? Stamp and signature are in Dutch. Except for the sticker, all data can be filled in yourself. The scribbling of a GGD employee (professional?volunteer?trained?) also seems childish. And why is there so much hesitation and resistance to fill in such a booklet? What instructions do those employees have? None, I think when I read the experiences. In addition, the booklet is not internationally recognized as a travel document. Finally: in the EU people are working on a legally valid corona "passport". So why all the effort?

    • chris says up

I estimate that you will not even end up with Immigration because the first signs indicate that the airlines will make vaccination mandatory on international flights.
And if the airline approves the booklet, it will probably also be done by Immigration who will not carry out the check themselves, I think (except for suspicious airlines).

Karel, Idd, people in Europe are working on some kind of certificate / proof of vaccination, but this will only apply to travel within Europe.
Can we use this to travel to Asia, America or Africa. ??
      Regards, Joseph

      • Peter says up

What you don't know Jozef, we don't know either. But something is always better than nothing!

And something that is only legal in Europe will not be accepted in the rest of the world. There will undoubtedly be a document that will be internationally recognized and I wouldn't be surprised if that becomes the yellow book after all.
The publisher of the booklet has been in consultation with the government for some time.

With vaccination numbers and stamps you show that you have been vaccinated. The weak point, however, is that the owner of the booklet has to fill in his details himself, so it is susceptible to fraud. Undoubtedly will have a sequel.

    • Janin Ackx says up

The yellow vaccination booklet is indeed internationally recognized, not as a travel document but as proof of vaccination.

      • Pieter says up

Then that yellow booklet has zero value because if, by and large, all countries of the northern hemisphere plus Australia have finished vaccinating, everyone can just leave that booklet at home, as is already the case for all vaccinations that most of us already have. got as a child against diphtheria, whooping cough, BMR, etc etc. No one asks!

    • Ger Korat says up

The yellow booklet does not bear any identity information, in the past I was allowed to fill in the names of family myself. In addition, it can be ordered 'per 1000' pieces, just go to the printing company around the corner and you will have a stack of yellow booklets identical to what the GGD has. Anyone who complains and would like the yellow book to be used as a document to show that you have been vaccinated should think about this first. In addition, since May 1, it is no longer useful if you want to go to Thailand because vaccination or not you have to stay in a quarantine hotel for a while. As far as I'm concerned, the yellow book can go back in the closet, I myself only use it to see which and when I've had my vaccinations in the past for a possible follow-up vaccination. I added a few vaccination stickers that I obtained in Thailand myself, just to give an example. It's just something for yourself and not for someone else.

Harald, next Monday it's my turn for shot 2 and I'll tell you how people handle that here.

But something else. After puncture-1 I received a letter with the imprint GGD-GHOR and it has a corona vaccination registration card. I made a color copy of it and that map is now neatly pasted in my yellow book, a page further. That's proof of shot-1. Batch number and volume are neatly marked. On Monday I will ask for the sticker of puncture-2 and a paw from the doctor. If they refuse the leg, I ask my doctor.

It is extremely annoying that there seems to be no national policy.

    • Ed Black says up

Same at GGD in Geleen, no description in the yellow booklet.
If only you had to stick the registration you get in the booklet.
      Pffffff

  3. JR says up

had both shots added to the yellow book no problem in Goes

    • Kees van Cologne says up

Good to hear JR, I can get my first one in the Zealandhallen next week and take my yellow vaccination passport with me.

    • HAGRO says up

May 3 had vaccination in Groot Ammers. They neatly filled everything in with a sticker!

First vaccination in Houten. ′′ Injector ′′ herself tipped me off to bring my yellow book next time, so that the 2 corona vaccinations could be noted in it. That is proactive thinking.

Will I receive a vaccination certificate after the vaccination against corona?

Had both shots. Have been registered in the yellow book by GGD Haaglanden without any problems. Also received a proof on paper on which both shots are listed by name and surname. Also in English. Accepted by the Thai Embassy in The Hague and at the airport in Bangkok.

  7. Teun says up

We have stapled the facination document with sticker that you will receive in the yellow booklet. No problem and it has also been resolved.

  8. On says up

    Hi Harold,
In Schiedam too, the sticker is placed in the yellow booklet after the first and second injection. Plus signatures of GGD employee and stamp of the GGD. If you indicate at the check-in desk of the GGD injection location that you want to have the vaccine added to the yellow booklet, the relevant employee will be called. No problem at all. Greetings Pada

  9. Ed says up

had the first injection at GGD Utrecht, no problem with the yellow book. Neatly stamped GGD, signed and with vaccination sticker.

  10. Peter says up

Today May 4, had my first vaccination in Veenendaal
Several employees themselves indicated that this would be stated in the yellow book ,
I didn't even have to ask for it myself
So apparently it is possible! class !
It is a pity that there apparently is NO nationally agreed policy
    Peter

  11. It is says up

In Maastricht people also refuse to fill in the booklet.

  12. Arno says up

I had my first shot in the SFG hospital in Rotterdam. Also asked if she wanted to put it in my yellow book, answer was no "we don't know if that is allowed and possible" and told me that I could write that in myself! Otherwise I should have gone to the GGD, but the GGD told me to go to the RIVM because they are about the Corona vaccinations. This agency also did not know how that worked and referred me to the GGD, do you still understand?

All in all, my yellow book is still EMPTY now.

Do have the corona vaccination registration card from the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment

  13. gash says up

Booklet neatly taken but GP did not want, loose ticket due to time. Does not make any sense. Booklet has all vaccinations and now a separate card.

Due to time, the needle was also pulled out very quickly, so the vaccine ran over my arm and dripped off at my elbow. Doesn't matter I was told. Well then we can standardly halve the doses.

The whole thing is extremely amateurish.

  14. khaki says up

More often, of course, the question arises of what the value is of that little yellow book and its contents. Well, that yellow booklet is not for nothing an international vaccination booklet and gives much more chance that the immigration of other countries (especially non-EU countries) will accept it than such a printed/copied registration form in the Dutch language. Nice for national use, but then I give the yellow book a better chance that I won't get into trouble in Thailand, either with immigration or with mandatory quarantine or not.
Unfortunately, I was not given a letter in English as I was initially promised and apparently also provided by the GGD The Hague.

The EU vaccination certificate is also sometimes cited on this subject. Firstly, this does not yet exist and, after approval in the EU parliament, it still has to be approved by various authorities, including the national parliaments; secondly, it is always made clear that it is for within the EU, so not outside the EU.

Another nice detail that I heard today on the German radio station WDR about the international and national mess with the vaccination certificates, that people are now also wary of counterfeits. Apparently criminals also see an opportunity here.

    Charles,

Indeed, just like you, I went crazy in Zoetermeer GGD, when this one refused
put something in the book. I went to the sitting doctor (BIG registered), pretended she knew nothing about it / couldn't cooperate, she said.
After 2x Rotterdam I ended up with a friendly location (Rotterdam) manager who arranged everything neatly!
I think we should further raise this "worthless" organization with various GGDs. (Headquarters?)

  16. Gust says up

Also in the vaccination center in Turnhout (Belgium) people refuse to register the vaccinations in the yellow book

    Arno,

Just go to the location (van Nellefabriek Rotterdam), it will be arranged there!

A vaccination booklet for Covid or a Coronapas (which will soon be introduced in Europe) is pure discrimination for the people who do not want a vaccine. A vaccine is not mandatory, then they should not impose any restrictions using these 2 documents.

If the large majority is vaccinated in the foreseeable future, the rest will enjoy herd immunity. I want to be able to travel around freely like everyone else. The government cannot force me to do anything. Just like a flu vaccine is also not mandatory.

    • Herman Buts says up

Discrimination means that people are not treated on an equal basis. You voluntarily refuse the vaccination, so there is no discrimination here. you are treated equally if you meet equal conditions, which is clearly not the case in your case.

    • Marc says up

I assume you mean discrimination in a negative context!
Not vaccinated means for now that you are a danger to others and yourself in a "travel area" that is (possibly) not vaccinated. So if you want to be free in your choice, fine, but then you MUST be refused on certain massive occasions, such as group travel (including flying) until Corona has completely disappeared. That is lawful/positive discrimination! The fact that I am not allowed to enter a football stadium because I do not have a ticket is also an accepted discrimination.
How do you get there? Have fun complaining. Better get a shot.

    • Ger Korat says up

Your government may not be able to impose anything on you, but the government of the country you are traveling to can simply say that you cannot enter because you are not a resident of that other country and therefore have no rights there. Or the airline can say that you are a potential source of infection for others and are therefore not allowed to travel. I flew to Thailand last Saturday in a large plane with only about 25 passengers, half of whom were Thai. Well, I sat far away from these Thais and have not had any contact with them because they do not have to take a corona test to go to Thailand and can therefore be a source of infection on the plane. As far as I'm concerned, once everyone has had the opportunity to receive vaccinations, they can introduce the rule that those who have not been vaccinated against corona have to take a mandatory private Covid test for 150 euros and/or issue an entry ban into another country.

    • Bert says up

The government will also be reluctant to do so, but private companies can set their own requirements for access to their company. Several airlines have already announced this.

  19. Dick Westerveld says up

The so-called yellow vaccination booklet has no legal meaning whatsoever.

It will probably be more important to keep the printed GGD/GHOR statement after the two vaccinations!

It is still completely unclear internationally what will be accepted as proof of valid Covid vaccination. Possibly this will be an electronic statement such as the printed statement from the GGD/GHOR.

  20. Christian says up

I don't understand why some GGDs refuse or make it difficult to do the vaccinations in the yellow book.
After all, that's what the vaccination booklet is for!

  21. Jan+van+Bommel says up

Just got the 2nd shot at the GGD Zaanstreek-Waterland. No problem at all to have them registered in the yellow vaccination booklet for both the first and second shot. The accompanying Pfizer stickers were neatly pasted and dated.

  22. Marc says up

Dear man, but no drama of it; why complain about an employee who wanted to do something for you and is actually not to blame. Must be motivating for him ...... what are you doing?
The stamp in this booklet therefore has no legal value at all. Fun for yourself only. It is simply not an official document and Jan and Alleman can use a stamp and initials. And so it turns out. What is important is the note you received, the “Corona vaccination registration card” from the National Institute for Public Health of the Ministry of WVS. After your vaccinations are completed (2x for Comirnaty) you are most likely protected and you can submit proof for a formal vaccination passport (EU) in due course. This formal registration document (ie the registration card) also has a proof basis; but unfortunately only in Dutch.

This is what the Dutch government says about it on its official website:

    “Confirmation in yellow vaccination booklet

Do you have a yellow vaccination booklet? Then the confirmation of the vaccination against corona can also be included in this booklet if you wish.

The confirmation on paper or in the yellow booklet does not count as proof of vaccination against the corona virus.

The GGD should therefore fill it in without reluctance with date, type of vaccine, dose, and name of doctor or institution that provides the vaccine. That's how it was done in my yellow book for all previous vaccines. Will find out for myself in the coming weeks 🙂

  24. Piet says up

I have already had both injections…1 x GGD Spijkenisse and 1x GGD Sommelsdijk…I have received a neat stamp, signature and sticker with batch number in my yellow vaccination booklet for both injections.
The treatment and speed and kindness that I found and received in both GGDs, just hats off ..Fantastic

In the vaccination center in Germany where I went for my first vaccination, and also in other places if I have heard this from friends, it is expressly requested to appear with this yellow booklet.
No problem at all, and was also noted without me having to draw their attention to it with stamp, signature and the type of Astra Zeneca mentioned in the booklet.
My question would be, why do you even need such a vaccination booklet, if they refuse to add an important vaccination anyway?

  26. Ralph says up

Start the PC, test in Rijksoverheidvaccin.nl > vaccination against the coronavirus > questions and answers > after the vaccination>
Do I get a vaccination certificate after the injection……….and there is your answer.
What are you worrying about nothing.

Same experience with vaccination in Brabanthallen. Heart of Brabant.
Didn't get an address stamp. Sender plus phone number.

Got a call from the GGD vaccination coordinator on Sunday. Had to be arranged nationally or even via Brussels
    I couldn't believe my ears.

To complete this whole story, some latest news about that yellow book. I already mentioned it indirectly in my posting, and this morning I saw on German TV (ZDF, MoMa magazin) that countless counterfeits are now appearing in Germany, including in Frankfurt. So it is not reliable, but despite that, the yellow booklet is internationally much better known than the current registration form that people receive when they are vaccinated. And that too will be falsifiable if hackers do their thing.
Finally, Minister De Jonge announced today that he would do everything possible to make the EU vaccination certificate available before the summer. Can it be done…………………. And what it will mean for us outside the EU is not mentioned anywhere.

    There is, among other things
    — Is the yellow vaccination booklet an official document in which I can have my COVID-19 vaccination recorded?
    — Yes, the yellow vaccination booklet has been designated by RIVM as a document in which you may have your COVID-19 vaccination included. You can read this in the professional implementation guideline COVID-19 vaccination https://lci.rivm.nl/richtlijnen/covid-19-vaccinatie (Article 10.6).

Just been to Zeist for my first shot. Placing a note in the yellow book was known and does not pose a problem.
