Looking at houses from readers (1)
My wife and I had a house built in Thailand, where we thought it was important that the character of the house would fit into the environment (countryside).
I also wanted it to do justice to the authentic architectural style in Thailand, simply because I think it is very beautiful.
I am enclosing some photos that you may use for your interesting series Looking at houses in Thailand.
The house is located in Ban Hua Kua, Non Sang – Nongbualamphu
Submitted by Bohpenyang
Dear reader, have you also had a house built in Thailand? Send a photo with some information and the costs to the red faction and we will post it.
Thank you very much for sharing these beautiful photos.
Very nice house, could move in immediately !!
Unfortunately I'm stuck in Belgium and counting down every day to be able to go back.
Regards, Joseph
my compliments, what a beautiful house!
Wow what a beautiful house, I could grow old in here
how beautiful! I'm curious about the inside too!
Hello Fan,

Hello Bohpenyang,
Reading your name means you are 100% Thai. It's a beautiful teak house and I think you can fit a whole family in it. A lot of painting/maintenance work?
Too bad about that typical Dutch element: the cart wheels!
Enjoy it for years to come.
"Bohpenyang" is dialect and means something like "it doesn't matter" or "it doesn't matter". That does not apply to this beautiful house, really finished to perfection. And I think those cart wheels have something, gives a personal note to the house and has a nice effect on the whole. The space around the house also appeals to me.
Hello Pear,
I am 100% farang-isaan.
Thanks for your positive response. The house requires quite a bit of maintenance, but the garden even more so.
It is a large piece of land (think about 10 rai).
The cart wheels are from a Thai ox cart and invented by a Thai, I can imagine that it might come across as a bit kitchy to some, but because there are already so many rectangular windows in the building, I thought it was aesthetically sound. It breaks up the many rectangular and triangular shapes.
But tastes differ, luckily!
Mrsgr Bohpenyang
Dear Pear,
I just don't know if this is typically Dutch with those cart wheels.
I know a Thai restaurant here with the same architectural style as Bohpenyang.
Around the entrance and on the street side cart wheels, painted as in the same color style as the house
Dear Bohpenyang,
First of all, congratulations on your beautiful home. For the time being I am stuck in Belgium due to the corona problems, but as soon as Thailand opens the borders again, we will go to Thaialnd. We will live there my wife
Thai and we already own a plot. My wife knows the area where your house is located
the surroundings of BURIRAM!!!.Could you tell me what this beautiful house has cost you!
Enjoy your “royal” villa even more and maybe we will meet again in BURIRAM. Greetings from Don Ramon Lamberto.
Hello Don Ramon Lamberto,
Thanks for your compliments!
Our location is in Non Sang, near NongBuaLamphu.
On the north side of the Ubulrat Reservoir.
I wish you good luck with your building plans, I cannot say exactly what the costs of our house were. But as an indication: in 2004 I bought the land (13,5 Rai) for € 6.500.
That was a bargain, but a lot had to be done to make it ready for construction.
We built the house in stages between 2005 and 2008. It was finished at the end of October 2008.

What a beautiful house.
Beautiful home, thank you for sharing!
Beautiful house!
My girlfriend is from Non Sang.
We are there a few times a year, then rent a bungalow in Ban Hua Kua, where the stone elephants are located on the main road to Non Bua Lamphu.
I never saw this house though,
I'm curious to see it in real life.
Hello French,
We rent out a nice bungalow on the water. So if you're in the area again...
For photos and info you can google or look at Booking or Agoda

Hi Don Ramon,
It may of course be that I am wrong about the spelling of Thai place names. However, my girlfriend's family has a house in Nong seang (spelling) which is about 15 km from Nong bua lamphu and about 30 km from Udon Thani. Buriram is located in south Isan and will be about 500 km away. Furthermore, completely agree with your assessment of this house, would also suit me well.
Kind regards,
Mart (at the moment grrrr.. in NL)
great house, I could spend a month there!
Hello Frank H Vlasman,
Thank you for your response!
If you googled you will discover that we also have rental options, so if you really want to spend a month (or a few days)..... WanWisa Homestay
Mrsgr Bohpenyang
A very nice house. But I think you have to be seriously wealthy to have such a house built. may we know the price?
regards
Hello Black Jeff,
Thanks for your positive response.
How much it cost is irrelevant. But it's probably (much) less than you might think at first glance.
We (my wife and I) are certainly not wealthy, nor have we won a lottery.
Just worked hard, saved up in the Netherlands and built up the business in stages thanks to many good contacts (Thai and NL).
Almost all building materials purchased locally, built by local people. It was done in about 4 years.
So take it easy and stop work when we were in NL ourselves.
Of course things will still go wrong, but that's okay: Bohpenyang!
Msgr
Dear B,
What a beautiful house, it also blends in perfectly with the surroundings. I think it would be nice to stay there. It will require a lot of maintenance, but you will enjoy doing this. Hope you enjoy it for a long time and thanks for sharing.
Beautiful house and architectural style, would have liked to see some pictures of the finish inside.
Building plot was bought for a competitive price, it is a pity that you cannot give a very global price of house building as an indication
Everyone has their opinion, but I prefer an open house where you walk from inside to outside with an open terrace or veranda (extension of the living room) and further to the swimming pool. I live in Hua Hin and spend more time outside than inside. A lot of light inside is also important to me, we have a lot of sun here, let's enjoy it. I think this house fits more in a Scandinavian environment and I see it coming into its own in a snowy landscape with a cold climate. I hope I haven't offended anyone here.
Dear Robert,
In Scandinavia a log cabin is the best choice, and they also come in very luxurious versions.
But teak wood absorbs the heat and therefore the beautiful and stylish house of Bohpenyang will remain cooler than if a lot of glass is used.
How funny that I came across this photo here on the site.
Had an overnight stay here years ago. (homestay)
Good hostess and host ... slept and ate wonderfully.
It is a beautiful house in a beautiful region. You can still find authentic Thailand there.
Greetings, Khan Hans
