I really enjoy Thai folk music and especially the music of MaleeHuana. An ice-cold beer, something to nibble on and then….

I really get goosebumps when I hear this song. I have the same with Mae-Sai from Carabao, wonderful music! I also enjoy rock ballads like Metallica and Guns & Roses.

What is the music choice of the Blog readers?

I completely agree with Geert's story. Plaeng pua chiwit with friends, alcohol and kratom vs managers, deadlines and ratings. Better a nice life than a slave life.
It must be said that Kampee's Yokohama is about a problem that needs to be solved.

“Enjoy Thai folk music! no not really, have been living in the Isaan for more than 12 years now and can't listen to this jerking for a long time, at least if you can call this folk music, or you must be drunk, yet there is a song that I can charm and that is one from the tv show The mask singer 2, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rRfqWcz-mw&list=WL&index=35, I must admit that I sometimes have to wipe away a tear when listening to it.

      Well Edward,
      I watched the youtube video.
Ine will shed a tear sooner at Maleehuana than at the sight of the hysterical ladies in the room and the equal behavior of the jury!
Nice that the Thai pronounce Maleehuana as marijuana?
Moreover, Maleehuana is a direct competitor/colleague of Carabao.

      Edward,
He has also excited the audience.
      Fortunately, there is also caption.

When asked about the music choice of the blog readers, I would like to mention some of my Thai bands and artists.
I like listening to Carabao and Tai Orathai. Through Thailandblog I also got to know the Mangpor Band (thanks for this). That's why I always read an article about Thai music with interest and listen to the attached clips. I also often search for Thai music on Youtube.
In addition, especially the pop and rock music from the 60s and 70s is still my favorite music to listen to.
I'm curious about the music choice of other readers.

I also appreciate most Thai and Isan music. No idea what it's about, but it sounds nice with a beer and at sunset. At local larger concerts, fights sometimes broke out
Often due to excessive alcohol consumption. I have sometimes been picked up on stage when the band saw that I could appreciate the music.

My choices in music can vary from Children of Bottom to big bands jazz, country or a Spanish solo singer (Soraya). So at one point I ended up with a Thai band. The Nanglen Band
They sing in Thai, no idea what they're talking about, but yes, that's just like with Soraya.
However, the band's music is great! Can be found on youtube and facebook.

For example, I once came across a Thai version of the Eyes of Jenny by Hans Vermeulen (Sandy Coast), sung by his Thai wife. Then it becomes a completely different song:

In fact, I think it even sounds better than his own earlier version.

Youtube is bursting with exceptional performers, just check these out:

Amazing what the man does with his show.

Or how about these 5 toddlers, where the guitar is almost the same size as themselves

Great that Juzzie Smith, also the number of Hans Vermeulen's widow is beautiful, I had never seen both, I have my reservations about the 5 toddlers from North Korea.
There are many gems on YouTube that are not well known to the general public, you must have seen and heard this guitar virtuoso, on this recording Tina S was only 17 years old, look, listen and enjoy.

For years I have been charmed by the songs of Bin la Bon ti Koh libong.
Especially the 7 minute long song Bin labon.
I use it for 7 minute meditation at the beginning of the day.

I even made the payment for this song together with my Thai teacher at the time.

I would have liked to share the translation, NL and phonetically. But I don't know how to share here on thaiblog.
That's why I release my email for enthusiasts in confidence.

both seen LIVE, Carabao in Amsterdam and Maleehuana in Songhkla Thailand.

Thai music? No thanks. After more than six years in the country, I still can't appreciate it.
I prefer to listen to 80s and 90s western pop music, exactly what I grew up with.

Anything better than our neighbor's karaoke.
    Cheating all day long.
An additional advantage is that the street dogs walk around the block.
