For the most part, due to the articles published on Thailand blog, Lung addie often gets the question from Dutch and Belgian tourists whether it is possible to help them find their way in the region here. Lung addie doesn't mind that and has already met several cool people in this way.

Let me call them C & A, no, not the well-known clothing chain, a Dutch couple and loyal readers of the blog. They contacted Lung addie about a year ago. They would like to go from the deeper south to Koh Samui and from there to the Chumphon area. Coincidentally, it just coincided with a visit by Lung Addie to Koh Samui, where he visits several times a year.

Arrangements were made. Since Lung Addie is well versed on Koh Samui, especially in Lamai, accommodation was reserved by him after hearing their wishes. It had to be quiet and it was. So the actual first meeting took place in Lamai. From the first meeting it was great. Lung addie provided them with a list he had compiled of the main attractions on the island, showed them a little about the places to eat, and they could enjoy their stay on the beautiful island undisturbed.

The return journey to the mainland was in each other's company. Due to the weather conditions, strong wind, the option "ferry bus" was chosen and not Lomprayah. It turned out to be a good choice in hindsight. For their stay in Pathiu, C & A opted for a private bungalow, offered by yours truly, on Hat Bo Mao beach, with a beautiful view of Koh Khai. Very quiet, but for some really too quiet. But this was their wish because they wanted to fully enjoy this peaceful environment by the sea.

Once again, Lung Addie made the necessary arrangements: rent a motorbike, tour through the town of Pathiu so that they were familiar and knew where they could find what they needed to provide for their necessities of life.

Almost every day C & A made trips in the region and enjoyed the beautiful landscapes through the palm oil and rubber plantations. They were also lovers of Thai food and they were able to fully enjoy that here, especially the delicious seafood for which the region is particularly known.

A trip, as described in “on the raod”, to the Dinsor Hill, the Prince of Chumphon, Thung Wualean Beach, Coral Beach ... was carried out by motorbike under the guidance of Lung Addie.

These people have had a nice holiday week. Lung addie has also fully enjoyed the company of these new friends and is looking forward to next year as they want to spend some time in this area again. Apparently it should not always be busy and tourist attractions to experience a pleasant holiday in Thailand.

In the meantime, Lung Addie has already received a concrete request from C & A to keep the same bungalow in Bo Mao Beach free for a whole month in February next year! Proof that they really liked their previous stay.

I can imagine that it is very nice for your guests (new friends) to go out with you or to be advised by you. It does not seem very difficult to me to give such guests a fantastic time in beautiful surroundings. I can also imagine that you enjoy it too. That of course depends on the type of guests.
When I lived in Patong Beach on Phuket 26 years ago, I actually did the same thing. Because I had a car available through my then business partner, my own Suzuki jeep was unnecessary and I parked it across the street with a sign for rent with full insurance. For example, a German couple came who were truck drivers but did not trust themselves enough in Thai traffic. I offered to drive them around the South but then they had to pay for the rental of the Jeep, fuel and also for my overnight stays. I entertained myself when I gave them privacy in the evening because I had met friends everywhere. It was a beautiful and educational time.

I do it purely for fun and it doesn't happen every day. If they have a moped too short, they can use the scooter. I never lend my car. After all, you have to be a more experienced biker to go out with it (and I can't afford to miss my “old lady Steed”. I pay my expenses myself, only if I bring a second guide, a Thai, with a heavier motorcycle , then they must be responsible for that man's expenses. If it is a larger group then I always make sure that there is a heavier engine in front and a heavier engine behind the group, a matter of safety. It is always fun here in the area, traffic is usually calm and the roads here are in good condition, it is never too much for me to travel a certain route several times, by the way, I am still discovering new sights.
