The cold season in Thailand

The cold season has clearly set in in Thailand. Temperatures drop to six degrees or lower, especially in the north of Thailand.

Every day on television, images can be seen of people trying to warm themselves by a wood fire. Nature also shows frost on branches and leaves. Although the temperature during the day can get quite high, sometimes 34 degrees, it starts to cool down at 5 o'clock and it is useful to put on something warmer. Especially when it is already dark at 6 o'clock. Only Venus shines cold and bright in the sky.

However, it is striking that after the rainy season this cold period shows a lot of flowering of plants. Not only along the roadside plants, but also in nature. One of the grass species can reach a height of more than one meter. If it starts to "bloom" with plumes, then this is translated as "grass flowers". A beautiful sight at a setting sun.

In the agricultural fields of Pattaya East I saw a crop, which I have given the name of linseed plants, but hopefully the readers know what this crop is really called. The estimated height was 120 centimeters and it was a beautiful sight to see this standing in the fields.

Many butterflies are currently active in the garden near flowering trees. Sometimes they swirl around each other as in a mating dance. It is a pity that a butterfly sometimes loses it there, but it is easy for me to photograph, because these butterflies never sit still for a moment.

While in the Netherlands the fireworks of autumn colors are extinguishing and a bare cold period is coming, here you can increasingly enjoy the explosion of colors when you go out.

It is indeed cold in the house.
With tiles on the floor and a relatively poorly insulated house, it is not pleasant without a sweater.

And to think that an important contribution to my enjoyment in Thailand is the fact that I don't have to walk around with so many layers of clothing.

For my wife and myself, the days are finally dawning why we haven't quite left Thailand behind us yet.
Since we spend most of the year back in the pleasant coolness of Flanders, our quality of life has improved by leaps and bounds.

Make sure your feet are warm (socks!) etc. then it will feel much more pleasant.

Biting your teeth for a while, only lasts for a while during this period.
I'd like to trade with you.
      Regards.

Is it suddenly a lot cooler since 5/12 and there is often a nasty cold north wind. Especially around 6 o'clock before dusk. So all stray dogs and even some cats get an old T-shirt or something. And here too suddenly plenty of offer in 2nd hand warm wool.

I love this cool period as a biker.
Since the large touring bike is again removed from the grease and can be toured again.
Because at 40 degrees with protective motorcycle clothing on your body, it is no fun to tour let alone if it has to stand still for a while in a long traffic jam.
And you can't tour around on a machine weighing around 400 kilos in shorts and a T shirt with slippers on your feet.
Thais may be able to do it, but they don't need a helmet on a regular moped either.
Great to be able to drive in this cool weather again.

This crop is probably rapeseed, I see it from a great distance.
This crop would be an ideal solution for Thai farmers…!!
