Dear Martin,

I fell into a coconut palm tree hole with my right foot yesterday. I went to the doctor with my knee. My knee muscles are sprained. Yesterday it was not thick on the inside of the right knee, but now it is. Difficulty walking as well.

I am 64 years old, female and weigh 80 kilos.

This one doesn't have to be plastered, does it? Then I can walk better, because there is no doing like that.

Regards,

L.

*******

Purchase,

I'd take a picture just to be sure. If nothing is broken, an elastic knee bandage (knee stocking) and cold compresses will suffice. Plaster is not necessary if nothing is broken. Remove bandages at night.

A pair of crutches can also help. Physiotherapy sometimes works wonders too.

If there is no improvement after a week or two, it is time for an MRI.

Yours faithfully,

Dr. Maarten
