Dear Martin,

Following the recently started discussion about the (whether or not) nonsense of the Covid virus, I decided to start a vitamin D3 cure.

Some questions:

  • Is it best to start with an all-encompassing 'vitamin D' cure or is a 'vitamin D3' cure a better choice?
  • What is the recommended daily amount to take?
  • How long can you take the course and does long-term use have any harmful consequences?
  • Is there a particular brand/supplier you prefer?

Where can I best go for my vitamin D(3) supplements (in the local pharmacy/internet).

My special thanks to Maarten! We can always count on his expert and non-binding advice.

Yours faithfully,

W.

Dear W,

D3 is excellent. Up to 4000 IU per day. 1.000 IU is normally sufficient. There is no brand I prefer. Look at the price. So far I have come across the cheapest at Watson.

You can take this every day.

If the dose is too high, nausea, loss of appetite, drowsiness and fatigue can occur. Rather vague complaints that can occur with many diseases and circumstances. Organ damage can occur at extremely high doses.

Sincerely,

Dr. Maarten
