Suitcase with motor, handy or useless? (video)
With your suitcase easily from gate to gate? This is possible with this motorized suitcase designed by the American company Modobag.
The suitcase runs on a rechargeable battery and can reach a maximum speed of 8 kilometers per hour. In addition, the case has a USB charger and a GPS system. Less practical is that the suitcase weighs 8,5 kilos and costs about 900 euros.
Useful or nonsense? The reader can say it.

55555 *gasps* April 1st is already behind us, isn't it?
Waste of weight, those 8 kilos are better spent on goods or nothing. For that money you better book a return ticket to Thailand. And if you are in need of assistance, they will gladly take you to the gate on a decent cart at the airport.
Well worth buying for people with a very fat wallet who don't know what to buy out of boredom.
funny, high gadget content, not practical ... certainly not a 'change the way we travel' suitcase.
The idea is nice, but the price is on the high side. Since the weight of the empty suitcase alone is 8,5 kg, it can only be taken along as hold luggage. If you know how the baggage handlers handle suitcases, a motorized suitcase will mi probably not have a long life.
What good is a suitcase that weighs more than the allowed hand luggage?
Then in the luggage hold of the plane? Forget it! Your electronics equipment must be in your hand luggage! That's a requirement (or recommendation?) I've heard of lately.
And the security checks at the airport? I'm afraid there's a good chance you'll be stopped...
My thickened: rejected!
Nice idea, for those who are lazy and have too much money. Too bad you can't take it on the plane. See for that http://www.batts.nl/nl/blogs/blog/mag-ik-vliegen-met-een-lithium-batterij/
The lithium battery it contains is not allowed in the hold or in the cabin.
Totally useless gadget for people who go by plane.
Useless thing for lazy people
If you want to drive it from gate to gate, it is hand luggage.
But it is too heavy for that, especially if you also want to put something IN the suitcase.
By the way, I think that the average American will be a bit too heavy for such a suitcase.
It's not for nothing that there is such a slender lady on it.
Furthermore, you lift yourself a fraction on that suitcase, for the parts that you can't drive it.
If it's not a July 27 joke, it's a completely useless device.
If you can't walk from Gate to Gate, there are always carts to pick you up.
I understand that the idea arose because one of the builders saw the existing handy children's suitcase on which a toddler can be transported across large airports. That is one thing that parents can consider when going on a flying holiday. This thing? Battery problem, too heavy, etc. Price is not too bad for the target group. This target group also buys branded bags of roughly 1 euros. But they are still crowdfunding so who knows we won't hear anything about it at all.
And meanwhile complain about too much cholesterol in our body.
As far as I'm concerned: get rid of those flat escalators too!
Very handy. Especially for me who can't walk great distances due to lack of oxygen.
The distances between check-in and gate at the airports are increasing.
Especially useful for older people
