Home » Flora and fauna » Birds » Bird watching in Thailand: The brow-browed bulb (Pycnonotus goiavier)
The brow-browed bulbul (Pycnonotus goiavier) is a passerine bird in the bulbul family. The brow bulb is found in large parts of Southeast Asia and the Indian Archipelago.
The bird is 17,5 cm long and grey-brown above with a fairly light head with a dark stripe (“bridle”) from the beak to the eye, a distinct white eyebrow stripe and a dark crown. The chest and belly are pale gray with faint stripes and the anal area is colored yellow.
The brow-browed bulb is found in Southeast Asia (including (Southern Thailand, Cambodia, Borneo and the Philippines). The bird can be found in open landscapes, parks and gardens. After the breeding season, they form groups of up to a hundred individuals that gather on common sleeping places.
The brow bulb has a large distribution area and because of that alone the chance of extinction is extremely small. The size of the population has not been quantified. The bird adapts easily, also in the inhabited world.
I'm thankful that I can now put a name on some of the birds I see when I'm in Thailand
I have already searched for a book about these birds, but without result.
I have always been a bird watcher and have a great interest in nature.
Greetings
Staff
Take a few nice minutes every day to read this.
These contributions about birds in Thailand are precious.
I don't know how or why
but they are also humorous.
Perhaps because there are such specially dressed birds,
that you wonder what the creator actually meant
Just free design from a designer who
going to nose in his color closet.
Staff Struyven:
Many books about it can be found in 'google'.
Search for “bird book thailand”.
