The pilots' union and Taiwanese airline EVA Air recently reached an agreement to avoid a possible strike.

This agreement comes after a conflict over the wages and working conditions of the pilots. The pilots were dissatisfied because they felt that their salaries were not being increased enough and that too many foreign pilots were being hired. They threatened to go on strike during the important period of the Lunar New Year.

The agreement was reached after talks led by the government. The union, which mainly represents pilots of long flights, has agreed four important points with EVA Air. The airline has pledged to increase salaries and only hire foreign pilots if absolutely necessary.

EVA Air confirmed reaching an agreement with the union in an official statement. The signing of the agreement was attended by Taiwanese Vice Premier Cheng Wen-tsan, according to Taiwan's Ministry of Transportation.
