INVITATION FROM THE Chamber of Commerce THAILAND:

Following three successful lectures in Pattaya, there will now also be an information hour about insurance in Bangkok.

Especially for Dutch people who live in Thailand and who are experiencing problems to insure themselves properly for health insurance and other types of insurance. Dutch rules and laws lapse and/or change as soon as you stay abroad for more than 6 months. Many people use various tricks to remain insured through the Netherlands. False addresses with sisters and brothers, etc., etc. People often forget that insurance companies will really check whether everything is correct as soon as they have to pay. So arrange it well and safely, we advise. It is possible.

AA Insurance

André and Matthieu of AA Insurance Brokers Co.,Ltd. will tell you all about the options available to insure yourself and your family properly and safely. Many Dutch people are already covered through them and don't have to worry anymore. Except that you have to pay the premium on time!

For all Dutch people

This informal information is for ALL Dutch people who live in Thailand or who often stay there for a longer period of time. So certainly not only for Chamber of Commerce Thailand members or members of other clubs. Chamber of Commerce Thailand invites everyone to at least learn a little more about this and then see what is possible for them.

The hosts Piet and Dick van de Green Parrot give you a warm welcome. As a Chamber of Commerce Stamcafé, people like to open their doors for an initiative to help compatriots. The fact that afterwards a drink and a snack are for sale is almost self-evident as soon as it concerns a Chamber of Commerce Thailand meeting.

Unfortunately, I will not be present during this information.
Interested to know what/how it is best to insure yourself if you live in Thailand (in my case, will live)
My wife still has Thai insurance that covers everything and we never canceled it, so it would only be me.
Hopefully there will be further news / information

    Thanks in advance

    regards
    Cor Verkerk

I am also unfortunately not present, but curious what the possibilities are to insure yourself properly if you (will) live in Thailand.

Go to the site above. You can probably get all the requested information there. (in Dutch) if not, there are options for contact.

      Regards Ruud

    Cor,

if you are not yet 61 then there are very good options. I have BUPA. Has everything in English. that is one of the absolute conditions. many thai insurers have policies in thai. for example, I had 1 at the door that insured a maximum of 7 days of intensive care. when I asked what happened if I had to lie there for more than 7 days, the answer was: "that almost never happens"!! So I guess it just pulls the plug.

Bupa asks for a premium, which is comparable to the Netherlands. has contracts with very good hospitals (no hassle with making agreements about ten weeks and endless hours of waiting). just walk in and after about 1 hour (a bit depending on the medical problem of course) with pills out the door.

    • Henk van 't Slot says up

Because I had honestly filled out my application papers “I took medication for high blood pressure years ago”, BUPA wanted to assure me, with the exception of everything related to that.
So I couldn't be insured for cerebral haemorrhage, heart attack, etc.

      • support says up

        dear Henk,

That is of course not special for BUPA. Kind of like trying to insure a burning house.

But I understand that you no longer have high blood pressure and that you no longer take medication for it. So I would just ask for a pre-inspection. and otherwise not formally emigrate to Thailand.

        • Henk van 't Slot says up

I emigrated to Thailand years ago and was also insured with BUPA, you have to have something.
Am now properly insured without restrictions with ACS a Fanse insurer.
Only had to enter my age and address in the application form.

there is also another one in thailand axa
they offer very good health insurance
from around 21.000 baht per year and cheaper
    you can choose from packages..
    basic classic or luxury
so you can choose your package yourself
this one is very worthwhile for not too much money

First to avoid misunderstandings: That office from Hua Hin, http://www.verzekereninthailand.nl (our trade name) and Aa Insurance Hua Hin (our company name) are all one and the same party. The information in Bangkok is provided by us.
As an all-round insurance office, we have increasingly specialized in health insurance in recent years. For this we work together with a large number of both Thai and foreign (mostly European) companies.

In response to some of the above posts:
There is talk of Bupa and AXA. Although both are internationally operating companies, we are dealing here with the Thai subdivisions. Both offer both limited and broad coverage plans. The limited plans naturally entail a risk. If limits are exceeded, this means further payment yourself. But the top plans of the Thai companies also clearly lose out to the European ones. Not only in terms of coverage, but also in terms of conditions (laundry list of standard exclusions) and the way they pay out (they often try to get out of this). Last but not least: Thai companies have and use the right to adjust premiums on an individual basis.

Is 40,000 baht a year expensive? Not for good insurance. We sometimes get the comment that it is more expensive here than in the Netherlands, but in the Netherlands it is not only the premium for the basic insurance that you pay. Ultimately, in NL, 25% of an average income is spent on health care costs.

We can be reached at our office number Monday to Friday from 9 to 5. In addition, we can be reached by mobile phone 24 hours a day. Our numbers can be found at http://www.verzekereninthailand.nl

Only high blood pressure practically never causes problems (read exclusions) in European companies.

Every plan that is renewable for life has a cut-off age. There are still plenty of options up to 65. Up to and including 70 this number becomes more limited, after your 71st birthday there is only a choice from a number of Thai companies.

If you are unable to attend the evening and would like more information about health insurance, you can always send us an email ([email protected] of [email protected]). After we have obtained the relevant data in this way, we can choose the best option for you. Health insurance is always tailor-made and depends on your personal circumstances.

Incidentally, an information evening in Chiang Mai is also planned. If you would like to attend, please send us an email so that we can notify you when the time comes.

  5. Alfred says up

In my opinion, Dutch laws expire/change for a stay of longer than 8 months. Does anyone know more about that?

  6. Andre Vromans says up

For privacy reasons it is always better to send an e-mail for information to this address:
    [email protected]

    There are various options for possible health insurance and in order to make a pre-selection, please outline the following circumstances in this email;

the age(s) and nationality(ies) of the persons to be insured (a Thai partner and/or children may also be co-insured if the main insured is an expat),
    the expected travel behavior (abroad),
any more or less serious medical complaints from the past.

Please do not forget to mention your telephone number.

You will normally receive an answer within 24 hours

    Additional notice:

As you can see in the article, this evening was organized by the Chamber of Commerce Thailand. Both the Chamber of Commerce Thailand and we have received many responses.
However, the space in the Green Parrot is limited and it would of course be a pity if it immediately turns out that it is insufficient or that it is so busy that there is no opportunity to speak to everyone with personal questions after the lecture.

    Hence the following urgent request:
If you intend to come to the lecture, please send an email to [email protected] with your name and subject April 6.

If necessary, one (or more) extra date will be added. You will then be informed as soon as possible.

  8. William Van Doorn says up

I would like to get in touch with this possibility of insurance. Is there no e-mail address I can contact? Or can I be sent a form to fill in online? I read somewhere - I am intensively and time consuming on the search - that I should click on a Banner "on this website". May I also know what a Banner is?
Sincerely, W van Doorn (single and permanent in Thailand).
