Dear Belgian readers,

I hereby report that the 2022 income declaration is online at www.myminfin.be. This for the income year 2022, tax year 2023. This for Belgian taxpayers not living in Belgium.

There is until October 24, 10 to complete and send the declaration.

This is actually a redundant question.

Someone who cannot/does not want to submit his tax return online can still do everything on paper. I'm surprised you wouldn't know that, Gerardus.

    Dear Lung Addie,

    Thanks for your information.

Unfortunately, I don't have the knowledge to deal with all those websites. I still get my tax letter in the mail and do everything on paper. But that has been going well for many years.

Besides sending an email and writing something on this forum, I can't do much. My age no longer allows me to change that.

    Willy

Nobody likes to pay taxes. Online? We are happy to use this when it suits us. Please note: not everyone will have their tax return for the year 2022 available on tax on web at the same time. And if she insists, then you already agreed to this method before.

Here's a tip for PC illiterates:

You can contact the tax authorities by telephone and they will complete the tax return with you during the conversation. Have all your necessary documents ready as well as your national register number.

The number on which this can be done:

    +32 257 257 57

Mr Francois, keep up with the times? What is provided for the Belgian with a Thai woman who does not have/will not receive a Belgian Eid. That's right, the paper version. And you now?

Pratana, you haven't done your homework properly friend!

My Thai wife no longer has Eid and yet I filled in everything neatly online last year. The solution for this has been discussed in detail here.

I have already tried to fill it out online, but I keep getting error messages that make no sense... so I sent an email...

Because I (Dutch) also worked in Belgium for a few years, I also receive a little "retirement pension" in addition to my Dutch "retirement pension", the state pension. I also report this Belgian income to Dutch tax because tax only has to be paid on it in the Netherlands, where I also live. This has been going well so far. Until 2 weeks ago I was suddenly surprised with a thick envelope to also file my tax return in Belgium. I was shocked by the way I would have to file a report, in writing or via the internet, but with, for a layman like me, a hodgepodge of codes. Until I delved further into it and saw a warning somewhere that the Belgian Service may have incorrectly sent letters to Dutch border pensioners. The SVB (Social Insurance Bank / Belgian Affairs Office) was inundated with calls from concerned, often older cross-border pensioners, asking what they had to do, because in Belgium they could not get through to the service because the lines here were overloaded. Afterwards it turned out that the Belgian service had indeed been a bit too zealous.

What Haki writes here is correct. As a Dutch tax specialist, I was overwhelmed by Dutch taxpayers who receive a Belgian retirement pension. All had received the Belgian declaration form.
The Belgian retirement pension is not taxed in Belgium for a Dutch taxpayer.

I advise anyone concerned to inform the Belgian tax authorities in writing about this inaccuracy.
