What you can get close by is often the tastiest. When you continue the Beach Road from Jomtien to past Chayapruek (police post and traffic lights) in the early morning, you will soon see a number of fishing boats just off the coast.
Same just after Pizzeria Le Mar. Fishermen bring their freshly caught fish to these places every morning and sell it to restaurants and private individuals.
Today I mainly find squid, crab and only one fish. That's not so much because the catch was poor, but more because I wasn't early enough. Apparently you have to come before eight to make your move.
