According to some Koh phayam in the Andaman Sea the last untouched island in Thailand, not yet fallen prey to mass tourism.

Koh Phayam is part of Ranong province and is about 40 km from the provincial capital. The small island has long white sandy beaches and clear blue sea with beautiful coral reefs. Koh Phayam is only 10 km long and 5 km wide and about 500 people live in this tropical paradise.

The island is surrounded by beaches and nature. Also special, the island is car-free. Transport takes place with motorbikes and bicycles. Electricity is provided by solar energy and generators. There are three resorts on the island that have 24-hour electricity: the Buffalo Bay Vacation Club, Phayam Cottage, and Blue Sky. There are satellite connections and there is internet. The bungalows and resorts also have mobile phone coverage.

The two main bays on Koh Phayam are Aow Yai, the Sunset Bay and Aow Khao Kwai (Buffalo bay). Both bays have long white sandy beaches. Of course this is a beach destination par excellence, but the interior also has plenty to offer. You can go hiking in the hills, forests and jungle. The wooded hills of Koh Phayam are home to monkeys, wildlife and a variety of birds such as hornbill and bald eagle.

    Koh Phayam,
My wife and I went there several years ago. A short holiday never to be repeated. Everything above is correct.
But to call it a paradise? After two days we were really fed up. There is virtually nothing on this island, except nature.
We went there at the time to go snorkeling. You could quickly forget that in the waters around the island. You have to go very far out to sea to do that. And then there is still nothing to see.
We booked an overnight stay through one of the online sites and regretted it from the first day. Our resort was at the end of a road and you could still park your moped at the front of the entrance and you had to walk the rest of the way. Not a problem in itself, but with luggage it is less practical to walk through the sand.
The restaurant at this resort was closed. According to the site, you could be taken to snorkeling spots by boat from the resort... they had already set up that service for a long time.
A few shops and a few restaurants, the island has nothing else.
I can imagine that if you come from a big city and want to shake off everything, take a few good books with you, it can also be nice.
For us it was simply annoying on that island and we were happy when the day came that we could leave it again.
