Koh Lanta consists of a group of islands off the coast of Thailand in the province of Krabi. The largest island of the group is called Koh Lanta Yai.

On different beaches on the west coast of Koh Lanta Yai are resorts and bungalows for tourists. The region is especially popular with beach lovers and for snorkeling or diving. Around the islands there are many impressive coral reefs. Sometimes you can even spot manta rays and whales. The many tropical plants and the remains of old rainforests give the whole a fairytale appearance.

On Koh Lanta, during the full moon of the sixth and eleventh months, the ritual of the Sea Gypsies of Chao Le takes place. They gather on the beach of Ban Saladan Village, where they dance their famous Rong Ngeng around their boats. They let them float away to implore prosperity and happiness.

One of the many wonderful aspects of Koh Lanta is its diversity of beaches. Whether you're looking for a lively place to party like Long Beach, or a quiet place to unwind like Kantiang Bay, Koh Lanta has something for everyone. The island's natural beauty also extends to its interior. With its lush jungle, waterfalls and caves, Koh Lanta offers plenty of opportunities for adventure and discovery. The island also has a national park, Mu Ko Lanta National Park, which is home to a wide variety of wildlife.

Koh Lanta is also a paradise for divers and snorkelers, with a rich marine life and beautiful coral reefs.
