TM 30 Immigration Bangkok. Because I spent almost 2 weeks elsewhere in Thailand and had no internet there, I was a bit behind with Thailandblog. While reading through it now, I came across an article several times about TM3o, the form that the manager of your place of residence (hotel, family or partner) must submit to immigration within a few days of arrival. If this is not done, the manager will be responsible for a fine of THB 1.500.

Because I was often late in responding to a TM30 article in recent days and partly because my wife, who never had a problem with submitting the TM 30 in writing after my arrival, did have a problem this year, it may be useful to her to describe experience.

After more than 5 weeks after my arrival/her TM30 submission, nothing had been heard from Immigration Bangkok, which had normally always been the case. Fortunately, my wife always makes a copy of her TM 30 form and she always sends it “registered” upon receipt of proof of postage. Unfortunately, this could not be resolved by telephone and she had to go to Immigration Chang Wattana to resolve the matter. It appears that the submitter herself is responsible, including for receipt (!), and that in the event of "no receipt" she is legally responsible to resolve the matter herself after a month, regardless of where the error was made (!). Otherwise, she faces a fine of THB 1500.

When we arrived at immigration, after showing the copies, it was clear that my wife was not at fault, but they could not/would not tell her where the mistake had been made. It was limited to a paltry “sorry”, that she had to come from far away to solve this, which also cost her half a working day.

The TM 30 report could also be made via the immigration website, but it literally gives repeated error messages, which still forces my wife to make the report by post.

Furthermore, it also became clear to my wife that I would not have been able to submit my next 90 day notification without proof of TM 30 and/or payment of THB 1500 and probably also not my extension of my visa.

Finally, I would like to emphasize that this is Immigration Bangkok and perhaps other offices are friendlier, more lenient and/or less chaotic, because I was already used to the unfriendliness, but now it is becoming increasingly clear to me that, partly due to all that paperwork and hundreds of visitors every day, it is word chaotic is also appropriate.
