Reporter: Christian

On May 17, I had to do my 90-day report again. I filled in everything online 5 days in advance, but received no confirmation. So I decided to go to Tha Yang myself on May 17th.

Although I live 11 km from Hua Hin, I have to report there. But first to my bank in Hua Hin for a balance confirmation of my account. Then with my 90-day notification and the form “Extension to stay” 60 km to Tha Yang.

To my surprise there was no one there just after 10 am and after handing over all the documents I could go in immediately to wait for the stamps and notes. I had to have a picture taken of me and less than 15 minutes later I could go home with the desired stamps.

That has never happened so quickly.

Thanks for your report but maybe a bit confusing for the reader.

In Summary

1. 90 days notification – Can be done online. Is only an address report, does not give you residence rights and no financial proof is required.

2. Extension (extension of stay) – Cannot be online. Does give a right of residence and financial proof is required.

    Hi Christian,

90 days reporting online must be done 14-7 days before the current reporting date. If May 17 was the real due date, then 5 days was too short and you therefore did not receive any confirmation. For next 90 days date it is best to count back 12 days from actual notification date and then apply online. Didn't matter to you this time since you had to do an extension anyway, 90 days could be done right away.

That 14-7 period normally no longer applies according to the new data on the main page.
However, the “User guide” has not (yet) been modified.

“Applicants can submit this online application within 15 days until the due date of notification. (see example)

    Hi RonnyLatYa,

thanks for correction, I still assumed old situation. Been using it for a few years but didn't realize it had changed. Incidentally, those 15 days recently did not work for me, only 13 days before did I succeed.

I only mention it for information because it is now on the website…
But that's not a guarantee that it's actually changed though 😉

    The Best
I also tried to do my 90 days online on 15th May 17th but got message (pop up) that I joined
the immigration office had to report. My 90 days still runs until May 24, so well in time.
Also in Tha Yang by the way.

    Regards George

      Got the same message today.
At the time I was always able to do my 90-day report online - now it doesn't work anymore.

In Thailand they are also never consistent, last time their website was offline for months. Now that they are back online, we can still visit the immigration office. I'm lucky that I only have to drive 100 km for that 🙁

Indeed, a bank confirmation of my bank balance was only for the extension of stay.(retirement), which had to start June 5th. Fortunately, I was able to do that at the same time as my 90-day notice. Otherwise I would have had to go back in a few weeks.
I just calculated that I have now submitted the 76-day notification for the 90th time and an extension of stay for the 20th time

Another 5 years and you get a silver stamp 😉

the online notification on the website is apparently out of order again, indeed a pop-up with a message to turn to the immigration office, the website has been out of order for about 4 months (until April 23) and apparently only worked for a while after that, too bad and also a bit incomprehensible, luckily immigration is only 30 km from here and I still have time until May 29
