Concerns the extension of my 1-year "Non O - Retirement Visa" on Thursday, February 17, 2022 to Thai Immigration in Jomtien. My visa expires on February 27, 2022.

I support my application with, among other things, the deposit of THB 800.000 2 months before the application.

Was always ok, but this time Thai Immigration Jomtien called me asking to show all my banking transactions (on Passbooks ) up to a year ago.

Everything was copied & signed again.

Monday 21 February I can pick up my passport again. With visa and registration 90 days (cannot be extended before the expiry date of my visa).

90 Days Bank Checking -> on May 17 (so 3 months later).

1. It is not a visa that you extend by one year, but a period of residence that has already been obtained.

2. That they ask for bank transactions from a year ago is now perhaps new in Jomtien because it was not asked before, but actually very correct.

If you use a bank amount of at least 800 Baht, the requirements are that the full amount must be paid 000 months before the application, must still be used 2 months after the application has been granted and that you do not fall below the amount for the remaining months. of 3 400 Baht may go.

The banking transactions of the past year then prove that you have met those 3 requirements or not and that will mainly be with regard to the 400 Baht.

What Ronny writes here is, as always, completely correct. It is only when you use a FIXED account that this annual statement is often not requested, only the bank letter. When using a fixed account, you can only withdraw money from the bank itself and the bankbook will be adjusted immediately. What people often ask for is the bankbook of the Saving account, which must show how you live here. That's how it works here at Chumphon Immigration but it could be different everywhere.

I do indeed use my fixed, 2-year, account for the renewal, there is more than enough on it and I never use that money. Have never had to show anything other than the bank note during the extension, immi Korat.
What happened to me once in the beginning was that on the day I got the bank letter I immediately extended the Fixed period by 2 years. That was not accepted by immigration, despite the money not being taken from that account, only interest credited and the new renewal. According to immigration, it was now only 1 day.
Fortunately, I had another account, my savings account, which had more than 800.000 on it for more than three months, but I had to get a new bank letter for it. One learns by doing.
