Subject: Immigration Khon Kaen

Today I went to the Immigration office in KhonKaen to get my year extension. I was right next to it, it was very quiet, and was very kindly received. A box of chewing gum is available for free at the counter. All necessary copies of passport, yellow house booklet, passport photo (too small was no problem).

  • Copy of my wife's passport.
  • Income statement from the Dutch Embassy (question is this original or copy).
  • Within 20 minutes I was outside again with a new stamp until 2020.

There is a disadvantage if you have difficulty walking you have to take the stairs there is no elevator.

Thank you for the notification.

The accessibility of some immigration offices (and other government buildings) can sometimes be a problem for those with walking difficulties. Hopefully, this will be taken into account when building or renovating.

But maybe the bowl of free chewing gum should make up for the lack of an elevator here 😉

Unfortunately, I don't like walking up stairs.
Wasn't a problem, the official planted me on a chair downstairs, sorted the papers, looked at me, left upstairs and was back ten minutes later with a new extension.
    Service with a SMILE!

My experience with Khon Kaen immigration has always been good.

I also received an email about the extension of my stay for an amount of 14.000 Baht.
Let's hope for the users of this service that it is not a government trap.

What do you mean by the email you received, requesting an extension for 14.000 bht?

I would also comment on the annual extension at immigration in Huahin.
Friday May 31st at immigration with all papers in order (I thought) Unfortunately I forgot to make copies for my multiple re-entry. This was quickly resolved on the spot and on to the counter. The officer was friendly and immediately folded the application form and stamped it. She didn't even look back at the letter of support. 10 minutes of work for the clerk and I was out within 15 minutes with my year extension and multiple re-entry. Everything went smoothly and without any problems.

As for the accessibility of the offices, I was advised by the immigration officer to wait downstairs and send my wife upstairs with my documents for 90 days or visa renewal. They would then handle everything at the office and come down with a camera for my photo check. It is very difficult for me to climb stairs and I am quickly out of breath.
Very friendly people who work there, thank you.

    Ronnie,

A brand new Immigration office was opened in Chiangmai this year. Without elevator. So people are apparently not yet convinced that an elevator is necessary for several floors.

Extension of the Non-Imm-O annual visa (retirement)

On June 11, I took another exam at immigration on Koh Samui.
At home, in peace, filled in the TM 7 form and pasted a photo.
They turned out to have a new form again, same text
    but 2 lines were added:
telephone number and email address. Had to fill everything in again on the spot.

Also a new form in Thai and English where they say you don't
can derive rights from the visa and they can throw you out of the country, if
they feel like it. I didn't read the whole text, but I had to
sign twice, also the Thai text

    So needed:
    1. Completed TM 7 form
    2. statement that they can do whatever they want with you.
    3. Passport with copies of all pages
    4. house book with copy.
    5. health certificate from Bandon hospital
    6. letter of support from the embassy (amount calculated in baht)
    7. passbook with copies of all pages (are you spending enough?)
    8. Google earth photo of house and surroundings WITH coordinates
    9. hand drawn map of house and surroundings.
    10.1900 baht.

You can pick it up on Friday the 14th at 4 pm, so after 3 days.

    Terrible bureaucracy.
A retirement visa for 12 years and something new every year.
You really are treated like a piece of shit here on Samui
I really believe they want you to fuck off.
