TB Immigration Info Brief 029/20: 90 Days of Online Issues

Dear TB readers.
I notice that there are quite a few people who fail to make the 90 day notice online. I also failed and got a dry message: REFUSED.
Why? That's what I guessed. But guessing is not in my nature. It may still be a vestige of professional malformation, but I'd like to dig deeper into the facts and find out why. I'm not a layman in working with computers and especially databases were and are used a lot by me, so I know a bit how those things work.
When I look at the design of the online Immigration page for the 90d report, I see a nice design with, in principle, few opportunities for mistakes. Everything nice with windows to be filled in, the necessary ones indicated with a red asterisk, for some windows even an appearing drop-down menu from which you just have to click on the appropriate item. So all well and good and yet there are many who fail.
I think I'm on the right track as to the cause of this failure but need a little help from the readers. I'm not looking out for those who got the message: consult your local immigration office, but for the people who received a REFUSAL got.
What am I looking for as answers?
The spelling of:
province – district (ampheu) and municipality (Tambon)
For example, becomes:
-my province written in different ways: Chumphon – Chum Pon – Chumpon – Chumporn. The list on the website only says CHUMPHON.
-my district: PATHIU – Pathio -–Patio. The list only says PATHIO and Patho.
-my municipality: TALAE SAP – Tala Juice – Talae Sab. Only T is listedala Juice.
For a database these are all different things and are not recognized if they differ from the data in the local database. After completing the immigration page, a CROSS CHECK of the entered data is done with both the main database and the local database. If it does not match what is stated in the entered data, it will simply be refused. A computer does not think.
Here, locally, the spelling for my district is becoming PATHIU and for the congregation TALAE SAP used, nothing else. (even took an extra look at the tessa track to be sure of the spelling)
Now my question:
The people who a refusal incurred, are they aware of possible different spellings of their data? If yes, please report it via TB as a response.

It's the same problem as with the GPS. If you start searching with phonetic spellings you will never find it. Therefore, when completing the application, scroll slowly and look at the Thai spelling. Then you'll be out in no time.

the Thai spelling appears automatically when you enter the first letters of, for example, the ampheu or tambon. But do you know what spelling they use in their database? After all, this is a database that should only be used for foreigners. Is that program in Thai or in English? If you know the answer to that, I'd love to read it.
I also struggled until I discovered that you can also click on the empty box and then get a menu of options. For example, I clicked on Tambon, Amphur and Ban, where I saw that they spelled Amphur differently than I did, but I still clicked on it. Now it works.

If you click on the input box, a row of names will appear with the Thai spelling. Then a name will appear that resembles your spelling. I always write Muang Chiang Mai. There isn't one, but there is Mueang Chiang Mai; with the Thai name. Finished. I've never had a problem with that and I've been doing this for about two years now. But from your answer I understand that I don't understand? Of course, I don't know the underlying software and databases either.
Reported online via Brave on April 20. Without any problems. Registration is only possible from the 14th day (within 15 days). Carefully check all data for typing errors. Use the popup menus. On Monday I received my Approved within 3 hours. That does not alter the fact that sometimes the site itself also has a malfunction.

I'm not calling you Lung (because you're not mine and I think we're in the same age range).
I have been in Thailand for almost 15 years now. I've always had enough time to make my 90 day report in person. In the beginning I had to drive to other provinces.
However, now with the Covid-19 I am a bit off doing the reporting in person (so was the TM30).
So I recently started working with the 90-day notification.
On the same Thursday I also almost immediately received the “refused message. ”
I too was unsure why.
I'm not from yesterday either and I took a good look at my 90-day report.
I noticed that I had made a (very) mistake about the house number; it had to be 567/59. I had filled in 576/59.
A really really small mistake.
I resubmitted the 90-day notification on Friday morning (at 08.30:XNUMX am) with the exact same address details, but now with the correct house numbering.
At 10.00 am I had the “Approved in the bus.”
So it really does matter if everything is correct.
One additional comment here. I have omitted all the designations such as Tambon, Amphur, Chamwat. That can only be confusing.

thanks for this info. Yes, everything has to be 100% correct otherwise things will go wrong. Of course, I also checked the matter regarding house number, passport number, departure card number…. I have indeed used the pop-up menu for the province, the ampheu and tambon, but, except for the province, there is no spelling for the ampheu and tambon in that pop-up menu that corresponds with the one used here. So I have to assume that there is a difference between the databases used. It is only a small effort to go to immigration here in person. I will try to speak to the 'big boss' and ask him to compare that with their own database…. is not a difficult guy…… and it is always very calm here in Chumphon immigration…. they are happy there when they see someone...

I have been able to make a 90-day report online several times in recent years without any problems. Unfortunately, after my last visit to the Netherlands in 2019, I can no longer do it. For some reason my online application is not accepted, don't get refusal but request to join me at immigration office. Of course done and asked several times what's going on. Talked to the head of the department about this issue in February. When I look at the Innigration app, it says that I can stay until December 31, 2019, but that has now become December 31, 2020. I suspect that a mistake has been made somewhere or that the system has not been updated with my new arrival data in 2019. After all, my TM6 number has changed and that could be the cause. Try online again at the end of April, assume that it will not work. Then to immigration and further investigation because I agreed with them in February 2020.

I did it via the PC and without any problems between e 14 days and 7 days before the due date. I read something that there is a 90 day waiver until the end of July

there is an exemption, but nothing prevents you from doing it anyway. So exemption or not, it 'should' work via online but it has a decent limp, that's a fact.
