On unofficial channels you can currently read that the Council of Ministers has decided to extend the exemption until September 26.

This would mean that you have until September 26 to comply if you want to stay after September 26, or have until September 26 to leave Thailand.

This extension normally also means that one would also not have the obligation to make the 90-day notification until September 26.

There is no news yet through official channels, but that is not really surprising. After all, this decision has yet to appear in the Royal Gazette, after which it will only officially become law. Usually this happens a few days after the decision and signing of the PM.

According to the information that is currently known to me, no additional forms would be requested to stay until September 29, ie it has only been decided to put a new end date on it.

It is not yet clear what conditions and evidence will have to be provided if people want to stay after September 29, or what else has been decided in terms of content. Normally this will only be announced once the decision has been published in the Royal Gazette.

As soon as those details are known, I suspect within a few days, and if there are any new conditions attached I will let you know in a follow-up to this TB Immigration Info Brief.

The “State of Emergency” would also have been extended until August 31.

Today I had my 90 days reported through my Thai roommate at immigration pattaya.
I also asked him to inquire about those 90 days and exemption after July 31.

Immigration would have said that anyone staying on a “Year” visa should follow the normal procedure for extending their period.
No exceptions will be made for the 90 days after July 31

Exemption after July 31 would only apply to those who would still not be able to leave, but those who are concerned must be able to demonstrate this. Rules would be made for this.
