Does anyone know what to do if you don't have a rental contract?
Suppose your wife has a house in her name and you just stay in your wife's house.

This is only about Koh Samui of course.
But usually a copy of the Kor Ror 3 in the immigration offices will suffice and you don't have to show a rental contract.
If you have a driver's license, that is also accepted in Pattaya. If you live with your wife, you apply for a certificate of residence….your wife must declare that you live with her.
I've done that a few times before in Pattaya and it went smoothly. I don't remember but even thought she didn't need proof of ownership for that…just on a word of honor Thais can get a lot.
Now I use my driver's license which is also accepted as proof of address
Not everyone has a driver's license and it is certainly not accepted everywhere as proof of address.
A certificate of residence is useless here because you have to apply for it at immigration. Pointless because you are at immigration and in addition to obtain a Certificate or Resident you also have to prove your address. Your wife must show her blue tabien job and ID. She doesn't actually have to declare that you live with her as a married person.
Proof of ownership is not required. Where you live doesn't have to be yours. There is proof of address and that is the blue Tabien Baan.
Then you just go with your wife/girlfriend with her blue book (Tabien-Baan) to the Municipality where she received the blue book and ask for a yellow book in your name. This is for the foreigners and is provided without any problem. This is enough for Immigration to prove your residency. I've had it for 10 years.
It won't be as simple as you imagine it to be in all municipalities.
I also have that from our address in Kanchanaburi and I remember this became quite a file. But maybe because I immediately got that pink ID card on top.

If someone is married to a Thai woman, simply apply for a visa on the basis of marriage. Simple right?
Please note, living together with the girlfriend (no matter how noble) is not considered married. It's A or B, right?

If you have a Thai driver's license, your address is also on the back.

Have your wife fill out a TM30.
You must always provide a TM30. See item 11 on form.
Last year, a TM30 was not necessary for my renewal because I am in the system, a slip in the back of my passport with a notification a few years ago was sufficient. So I don't have to make a new TM30 notification upon renewal.
Such a slip of ''notification of residence'' is also stapled in the back of my passport. I have never made a tm30 notification when returning or renewing visas.
It doesn't say anywhere that you have to make a new report. But it must have been made and that is what it says on that form
In addition to the requirements of Samui immigration the following:
A few years ago, a health certificate from a doctor was enough (50 baht)
It was recently introduced that the statement had to come from a hospital.
OK Bandon hospital: weigh, measure blood pressure, talk to the doctor (250 baht) no problem.
Last week again to Bandon. Additional requirements: an X-ray and a Covid-19 blood test (990 baht)

Then don't go to Bandon hospital but to Thai International hospital. Bandon hospital just wants to make a profit out of this. At Thai International hospital still the normal price, and no additional examination that immigration does not ask for.
With the annual renewal I always only take a copy of the blue book with me, a rental contract has never been requested.
By the way, I would have expected that bank details for a whole year would be requested (if the 800000 Thb option was chosen) to check whether the new rules have been complied with. But I don't read that in the requirements, it will be my turn in August and I will visit before then to ask whether the requirements are still the same.
In addition, requesting an extension on Samui is only possible 10 days before the expiration date. Or this should have changed by now.
I hope for your sake that Thai International still applies the old rule in August, but would not count on it if you see what bizarre rules the government currently applies in Thailand.
With 800.000 in the bank, you do not have to show bank details for an entire year. Only a letter from the bank and a statement.

As far as I know there are only two immigration offices in Thailand where they want to see a certificate of health for renewal, Samui is one of them. This is again something they made up themselves. On the Facebook page Samui community pinboard, readers mentioned that Bandon hospital had come up with something new and that this is not the case at Thai international hospital. Making the certificate more expensive therefore does not come from immigration but from the Bandon hospital.
Could be, but Thais are copycats. I'm afraid they will copy the art at Thai International. I would like to know if the old situation still exists in August. My wife (NL) has to get her retirement visa again in December.
Loe, this just shows that every office has its own regulations or comes up with extra things. I went to immigration Huahin on June 1 with an income statement. I was not asked at all for copies of my bankbook.

STM2, Google MAP, drawing map, medical certificate? All never done in Chiang Mai. If there's something wrong with you (not imaginary at our age), then no medical? Do you have to leave the country?
April 29th my Extension of Stay expired for the 3rd time … I was there 2 days earlier, the 27th at 09:30 AM ..
Documents, as mentioned in the photo above, collected, together with the Visa Support Letter from the Dutch Embassy (received within 4 days after application) …
Only the order of the papers handed to me was changed LOL …
I was able to come back on the 29th … after my explanation due to the possible 14 day quarantine after returning to Koh Phangan it became 13pm on the 00th … never went so smoothly before …
According to the list shown, on Koh Samui you must have a pension of THB 65.000/month and THB 800.000 in a bank account... so not either/or. If that is the case, then it will soon end for me...

No, it is > OR sufficient to show THB 800.000 annual income > OR that amount in the bank > OR a combination of income and in the bank … So definitely NOT AND 65.000 AND 800.000 …
Of course it's one or the other. I only mentioned it again to indicate how unclear, confusing, almost chaotic, Thai Immigration works. Because in principle this pamphlet also contains inaccuracies. And on that basis, foreigners must submit their applications? No wonder there are always so many questions on the subject of immigration.
The document shown seems to me to be a – largely unsuccessful – English representation/translation of rules regarding extension of stay by an official with limited knowledge of English.
It looks like a collection of "translations" put together in the evenings that certainly does not have the predicate of Official Document. More like a paste and cut piece on an A4 sheet without an Immigration Office mark on it.

you're right. Receive the piece of paper and use the back for notes, etc. Immigration often does the same with the unnecessary copies that you have to submit every time. The back is used when paper is used up to print copies etc. and then hand it over to someone else. For example, I once received a TM 30 form with a part of a copy of a passport from a person unknown to me on the back.
That is indeed a well-known phenomenon at immigration on Samui.
