The editors of Thailandbog regularly receive e-mails from men who would like to get in touch with Thai women. Unfortunately we cannot mediate in this. Our advice is therefore: go online dating.

online dating

More and more Thai women have discovered online dating as the way to get in touch with Western men. In recent years there has been a trend that even the highly educated Thai women use dating sites to get in touch with a potential partner.

There are many Thai dating sites and chat rooms with Thai ladies seeking western man. Unfortunately, the differences in what they have to offer are also great. On a dating site you can easily view the profiles of the women. You can also create a profile yourself and post photos. Most of them are free, sometimes the functionalities are limited. In that case you have to opt for a paid membership to get more functionalities.

Of course you can also use Facebook to make contacts, but then it is good to first see if the other person is available.

Thai Faq researched five dating sites in Bangkok. He posted five identical profiles of himself and he wanted to find out what the response and the experiences would be. He chose both free and paid dating sites for his research. There were clear differences between the dating sites themselves. Curious? Then watch the video.

Some online dating tips:

  • Always protect your anonymity. Do not give personal information too quickly, you can always do so.
  • When you create a profile, make sure that important personal information such as telephone numbers and address details are never included in your profile.
  • Don't just give personal details to your Thai date, be wary.
  • Never give financial information such as account numbers and the like.
  • Create a separate email account (Gmail or hotmail) for online dating. This makes it easier to protect against unwanted email and email stalking.
  • Don't be afraid to ask a lot of questions to the Thai lady. If someone gives mixed answers to the same questions, they may be an unreliable person.
  • Some Thai women have several chat friends, the chance that you are the only one is small. But of course you are the nicest.
  • As soon as money is asked, stop immediately with the lady, it is a scam or she is just looking for a naive sponsor.
  • Report abuse and requests for money immediately to the administrator of the dating site.

There are reliable and less reliable dating sites. But even reliable Thai dating sites can never guarantee that the members are also 100% reliable.

Dating sites can be a nice start for a first contact.

    However, be careful here too.
Is the person in that nice photo indeed the person in question?
A: Enough men steal a photo and pretend to be a sweet young lady.

B: there are women who act as decoys for a friend:
someone recently told me the following story about a friend of his.
He saw a beautiful lady with a neat profile on a dating site and decided to contact her. After many personal e-mails, photos and phone calls over several months, a nice contact was established. This results in a trip to Bangkok airport, where his “darling” and a girlfriend are waiting for the man. A day after arrival, the girlfriend tells diplomatically that she doesn't really like the man, but that her girlfriend is willing to deepen the contact. It turns out later that the original lady is already married (recent wedding photos are on the table) and that she said she acted as a decoy, because her friend knows poor English and therefore it is difficult to “get a job”. Comes under the heading: “Same same, but different”.

It often happens that men have built up a very good contact through the site, e-mails and telephone calls; the lady never asks for money. That sounds good. The man then sends money to Thailand in good faith by Western Union, so that the Thai girlfriend can buy a plane ticket to the Netherlands with the aim of getting to know each other in the short term in the Netherlands.
Regularly there is a man waiting in vain at Schiphol; the lady (if it was a lady at all, who presented herself as a lady on the site) is already looking for another victim.

    Hello…

Although I'm not looking for a partner at the moment, I was intrigued by the video above and wanted to give it a try.

Not hindered by any hesitation, I joined ThaiLoveLinks this afternoon. com, recommended in the video… albeit with a newly created email address…

The site pretends to be free, and it was the first hour, but I was very surprised when it turned out that all the Thai ladies I got in touch with, and that went amazingly quickly, all turned out to live in Ghana…

And when I made the comment that Ghana is a long way from Thailand, and asked the ladies in question, what are you doing there, I got the same answer from all the ladies… nurse…

So if I understand correctly, there is an oversupply of nurses in Thailand, and they all emigrate to Ghana???

In the meantime I have already received a dozen e-mails from "Thai ladies", but I cannot open them, because I am now being asked to deposit 29 euros per month…but it can also be cheaper… if I subscribe for a year, I only pay ten euros per month, according to the site 99 euros for a year..”.save 119,99%”, it says printed in red… so if I subscribe for five years, I will actually receive money back???

I ask myself a few serious questions here… you have to blindly deposit money for something that is not there? Not really recommended…

Dick: You can assume that those ladies from Ghana are so-called scammers. They can be women, but usually they are men who spend all day looking for gullible (older) men in an internet shop. See my article 'Women' on the hunt for men and money: http://tinyurl.com/avu9f6e

Scammers are active on dating sites with no other goal than to extract money from the pockets of gullible older men. These scammers are easy to spot. See my article 'Women' on the hunt for men and money: http://tinyurl.com/avu9f6e
