Martien Vlemmix of Mascotte Thailand, together with his wife and his brother, has also set up an action in the Netherlands to provide poor residents in his area with a meal and also to provide financial support. Up Facebook page you will find more information and beautiful pictures.

He writes to us:

Marianne is a flight attendant with a great love for Bangkok and the people who live there.

She also supports our action in the Netherlands and Thailand to provide meals to the poorest residents and wrote the following poem while she was “under house arrest” in the hotel room.

Good to relax in these turbulent times......

Thanks Marianne….

BANGKOK

The troubled water flows softly through her royal veins,

The temples kindly watch,

They, too, marvel at the still silence,

They think all the time… where is this supposed to go?

Beautiful purple orchids still try to adorn her with pride,

But even they don't know how to calm down,

Suddenly it was there

Something big, something invisible, full of many dangers…

The golden morning sun embraces her with warm hands,

With her luminous radiance, she too sees the great loss,

She lets out a big sigh,

Even the Nagas, the protective dragons, grieve…

Her main artery, the Chao Phraya River, seems to be mourning,

And again she sheds a tear,

The rain is crying

And the drops are lovingly collected by the klongs…

Bangkok, the wise lady from the Far East, doesn't know anymore,

She asks advice from an old acquaintance… Jakarta,

But she also can't give the solution,

Even neighbor Vientiane is very worried,

And also neighbor Saigon quietly sobs along with her …

As a distraction, she then focuses on her Chinatown,

The first beating heart, when she was very young,

With the diverse Eastern cultures,

Who gave her so much genesis…

How to proceed now is still unknown,

She's been through so much

However this,

Has hit her and her inhabitants terribly ...

My dear bangkok,

Hold on …

For the people and for yourself,

Hopeful regards,

The moon

    marianne,
A nice wording for people who love South-East Asia as much as you do and especially Bangkok.
With its "Klongs", Temples, and pleasant bustle it is pleasant to stay there. Exotic and friendly simple people give you a blissful feeling, far from the “mundane west”.
A little “Poetry” brings sensitive souls back to dreaming…..
Continue Marianne, I dream with you…..
    frans
