Editor's note: It is currently unknown to us whether such an event will also be organized by the NVT Pattaya.
Say cheese, Pim
I will definitely come. What is the time to “attack”? Hahahahaha
In Leiden, or Hazerswoude where I last lived, it is very common to serve an old gin or something with it. Gesture from Say Cheese??
Isn't sauerkraut part of Leiden's relief? Or was it just herring? When I think of October 3, I always think of Rubbere Robbie with their world hit about this.
Sauerkraut? It is also possible, but it is actually herring and white bread.
Well, as long as it's nice and cozy, right?
What did people think about 6 o'clock .
.
I know that in Leiden there are various times to start .
Fortunately we are in Thailand.
Jeroen will make some of his famous stew.

Leidens Ontzet is a fun folk festival
Everywhere in the Netherlands, 3 October is a normal school day. But not if you live in Leiden. Children from Leiden are not at school that day, but walk around the fair and celebrate. The city smells of herring, fresh (white) bread and hutspot. Leiden celebrates Relief of Leiden. They have been doing this since the 16th century.
Leidens OntzetEvery year, Leidens Ontzet is a festive occasion to commemorate the end of the months-long Spanish siege of the city on 3 October 1574.
Only after the surrounding lands were flooded did the water beggars manage to liberate the hermetically sealed city. They came at the right time, for the city was very hungry.
The Relief of Leiden actually marks the end of the second siege of Leiden. This city had sided with the Prince of Orange during the Eighty Years' War. That was the reason that the Spanish army moved to the city. The first siege lasted from October 1573 to March 1574. The Spaniards left because they were needed elsewhere. Barely two months later, however, the Spanish army returned. The city had not had time to prepare for a new siege. Not enough food had been stocked and even the redoubts that the Spaniards used for the first siege were still there.
