Around Pattaya a new theme park has been established. Driving towards Sattahip next to the entrance of the Noong Nooch Garden is the entrance to Legend Siam.

In the leaflet, Legend Siam is described as the land of the legendary Siam civilization and can be seen in Thailand's first and largest cultural theme park, which showcases Thai pride through legends in the different periods of Thai civilization.

The park is spacious with an area of 164 ground rai where the Thai civilization in different periods is depicted. At the entrance of the Himmapan temple fair, two life-sized guards, named Tossakan and Sahassadeja, are standing.

Through the entrance hall one enters a square, where the huge statue of Lord Indra on the Airavata elephant stands out. This would guarantee happiness and protection against suffering and danger. A train is waiting on this square, which drives visitors around the park. There is a stop halfway, you can get out and look around on foot or remain seated for the entire ride.

Many themes are offered, but also numerous shops, representing each of the 77 provinces of Thailand in the form of (hand) made products. Themes like the Dhamma Sanctuary, the Brahma on Hamsa, Black Magic, the Siam Vilize Thai Machine and others. The Dhamma Sanctuary takes the visitor back to the essence and value of the Dhamma through modern technology. The Brahma on Hamsa also wants the best for humanity.

In the Town Square you will find beautiful, handmade dinnerware, very finely decorated from different parts of Thailand. Due to the various actions to get this to this level, there is a price tag attached. For example, a four-piece tea set from 5750 Baht. A nice salt and pepper set from 1500 Baht.

The park highlights the agricultural side of Thailand, inspired by former King Bhumibol and his philosophical view on it. The Bang Rachan offers the visitor to experience the struggle from history to achieve unity of the people of Siam. The elephant village is also not missing, just like the Muay Siam.

There are restaurants along the Floating and river side and shops from every province (77) offer their characteristic products.

The park is spacious and exudes a certain allure. Wide clean streets, easy wide bridges, which lead over different stretches of water.

Although the theme park says it is open, this is not true. Many attractions have not yet been completed and many places are still under construction. However, for a “farang”, who lives in Chonburi province, including Jomtien, Pattaya, etc. and who has a driver's license, access is free until May 10th. In addition, a voucher for a free drink. The entrance fee will be 450 Baht.

It is striking that the place Pattaya is described in the brochure as: “A travelers paradise, a magical city and Thailand's most colorful and charming city!”

A personal and daring comparison: If I had to choose between this theme park Legend Siam or Muang Boran, the old city near Bangkok, I would prefer the latter.

Legend Siam is nice because of the distance and the luxury, but in the Muangboran park you really experience the reconstructed houses from earlier periods in a wide open environment.
