Questioner:

Where can I get a document/proof that I live in Thailand as a retired man and not as a working man. I am 66 years old and the tax authorities in Belgium ask me for confirmation that I live in Thailand as a retired man.

I've been everywhere. at the embassy, immigration, notary and no one can help me.

Please explain if anyone knows more.

Regards,

valentine

Dear Valentine,

First of all: the tax requires confirmation that you live in Thailand as a pensioner. A confirmation is still not PROOF.

If it concerns a confirmation, you declare, on honor, that you live here as a pensioner and not as an employee.

Have you asked the tax authorities what they want? I myself have not had to provide any confirmation or proof of this,

It is common knowledge that you can't just get that kind of EVIDENCE document here. Since you, as a Belgian, are not subject to tax at all, you do not have a file or TIN number here. So you won't get that with the taxes.

The only thing you can possibly do is send a copy of your visa, if it is a NON O, based on Retirement, with the conditions such as: it is forbidden to work from here. They either accept it or they don't.
