Malicious money lending in Thailand

This week Thailandblog published a posting about the irresponsible "borrowing behavior" of the Thai to buy a new car, for example. The government is trying to limit that. This against the wishes of the car industry!

However, Thai are not the only ones who take out a loan. There are many so-called offers in circulation to borrow money at attractive premiums, low interest rates and favorable conditions.

Consumers who are considering taking out a loan would do well to check in advance whether the lender is reliable and has the necessary permits.

There are no bona fide financing companies for Dutch/Belgians in Thailand. And certainly do not accept offers for cheap loans with 'insurance premium'. You will first be asked to transfer money for the insurance premium before the loan can be granted. If one accepts this, the money will be lost and there will be no loan; the credit providers or scammers are gone.

The Dutch embassy in Bangkok also warns against these mala fide practices and advises to file a report: www.mijnpolitie.nl

It also provides an overview of a number of names and companies that are involved in these practices. Non-bona fide money lending or so-called investment banks:

  • capital finance
  • Global Finance Group Pte. Ltd.
  • Global Investments Development Pte Ltd.
  • Global Investments Asia Pte Ltd.
  • Liberal Europe
  • Asia Timeshare
  • Faeneror Forte

Used names of persons:

  • Mrs. Fernandes
  • Mrs. L. Duykers
  • T van der Laan
    A. Teunissen
  • R.Th. Little Langenhorst
  • Frederick Gerad Leimena
  • Mrs. J. Liersen
  • Mrs. CA Gillesen
  • Mrs. D. van Byers
  • Sahmboohn Annuuchara
  • Suukhanda Kewnett
  • Nutiporn Wanha
  • Nataporn Pianbamrungsukari

    Dear Lodewijk Lagemaat,

Especially if you want to take out a loan for a car in your wife's name.
There are people who would like anything, as long as it is for prestige.

Also keep in mind that you yourself (if) you take out a loan, it is quite a nice amount
as a deposit is requested (usually 10% of the total amount or more).

I wouldn't do this over the internet. Arrange the purchase yourself.
    Yours faithfully,

    Erwin
