Besides all the details about the rescue operation of young football team from the caves of Tham Luang, I was curious about the foreign rescuers, mainly divers. Who are these people who, voluntarily or not, went to Chiang Rai to put their knowledge and skills at the service of this unprecedentedly difficult rescue operation?

On this blog we have already met the Belgian Ben Reymenants and there were already separate stories about the English divers, who were the first to discover the whereabouts of the boys. I also read an article on the Times website about Derek Anderson of the US Air Force detailing the involvement of the US Air Force and several articles in the Australian press about Richard Harris, an anaesthesiologist and diving specialist from Adelaide.

Other foreigners may not have been in the news, but of course they all also played a prominent role in the rescue efforts. The BBC devoted an interesting article to these men (not women?), which you can read via this link www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-44761821

If you have read any other articles about these men, please pass the link in a comment to the blog readers and make this article a true tribute to these heroes. Heroes? “We are not heroes at all,” said one of the English divers on arrival in England, “we have worked together on an international level in a unique way, the whole execution has been carefully planned, with no risks taken”.
