Frans Amsterdam in Pattaya (part 8): 'I will maintain'
Frans Amsterdam has settled down again in Pattaya and entertains us, until there are no more 'like' ratings, with his experiences in a follow-up story. Today it's about 'maintaining'.
Frans Amsterdam in Pattaya (part 7): The ticket seller
Frans Amsterdam has settled down again in Pattaya and entertains us, until there are no more 'like' ratings, with his experiences in a follow-up story.
We are now writing August 30, 2017, but do you remember? June 2015, the Thai newspapers and Thailand-focused blogs were full of it. The legally determined selling price of 80 Baht per (then still double) ticket of the Thai State Lottery was to be maintained.
French Amsterdam in Pattaya (part 6)
Frans Amsterdam has settled down again in Pattaya and entertains us, until there are no more 'like' ratings, with his experiences in a follow-up story.
The Wonderful 2 bar pressure index has increased slightly to 4.4. It was particularly low on Saturday and Sunday, 2.1 and 1.9. The lowest values I've ever measured. I blame it on The Moneyfight.
French Amsterdam in Pattaya (part 5)
On Friday afternoon Cat caught up and drank, she had no concrete plans yet, and went to sleep with a friend. Given the long day I had already had, I decided to take an evening nap, and then spend the last hour with live music in the Wonderful 2 Bar, from 00.00 to 01.00.
Frans Amsterdam in Pattaya (part 14): 'I'm going fishing!'
Frans Amsterdam has settled down again in Pattaya and entertains us, until there are no more 'like' ratings, with his experiences in a follow-up story.
Frans cannot sleep and goes to the reception to arrange a swimming party. Unfortunately, he doesn't get any further than the well-known: 'No have!'
French Amsterdam in Pattaya (part 4)
Cat would stay in Manama for three months for the time being. I asked her to speak up every few days, and she solemnly promised. Cat regularly reported that things were not going well in Bahrain. She didn't even make enough to pay the shared room rent, so the debt only mounted.

French Amsterdam in Pattaya (part 3)
After I caught up with my travel report, I also dozed off. We dropped the plan to go to the Wonderful 2 Bar later in the evening. We slept well and liked it that way. Even before the band stopped in the bar we had left completely only to wake up when the sun came up again.
French Amsterdam in Pattaya (part 2)
Half way through this first evening I woke up. There was a message from Nuk, that's what I call her. How darling was doing. She asks that about 365 times a year, and sometimes I can't come up with anything for a while, but now I could surprise her.
French Amsterdam in Pattaya (part 1)
Due to popular demand, Frans Amsterdam continues where he left off. He will notice from the number of 'likes' when it all becomes too much for you.
Ooh, ooh it's party time
A birthday party in the Happiness bar 1 and 2. Food, drinks, birthday cake, candles and 'Happy Birthday'. Frans Amsterdam falls with its nose in the butter.
How the loan to the bargirl turned out
Frans Amsterdam passed away in April this year. In his memory we are reposting some of his articles: A few weeks ago, Cat received 5000 Baht from me: 2000 as a gift and 3000 as a loan. The reactions to the story I wrote about this transaction were numerous. The tenor was that I should not count on getting that 3000 Baht back.
Lending money to a bargirl, how will that end?
Frans wants to lend money to bargirl Cat, a friend service. But how will that end? The readers can say it, because afterwards everyone already knew it in advance.
A ruthless Farang
Frans Amsterdam has transferred money to ex-bargirl Cat so that she can take the plane to Pattaya. But will she come?
Old newspaper article cremation King of Siam in 1886
Recently I came across a report on delpher.nl about the festivities surrounding the cremation of the (last) viceroy of Siam, Wichaichan, who had died on August 28, 1885. I thought it would be nice to share this historical image with the readers, so I've taken the liberty of making it a bit more readable by adjusting the spelling to the current one, without further violating the original text.
From advertising to waste
The way in which waste is dealt with in Thailand certainly does not deserve a beauty prize in 'our' eyes. The article about the polluted beach in Pattaya and the reactions to it on June 19 speak volumes.
Review Kaan Show Pattaya
On May 7, Gringo published an article about the Kaan Show, which was to premiere on May 20 at the brand new D'Luck Cinematic Theater (Pattaya). Frans Amsterdam ordered tickets, went to look and wrote a review.
Frans Amsterdam: Who knows the best caption for this photo?
I found some old memory cards and came across a nice picture. I think Bangkok in the vicinity of Nana Plaza about ten years ago. Yes, everything was better then! Who knows the best caption for this photo? With 25 responses I will transfer 25 euros to Charity Hua Hin.
