29 August 2015

On Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August 2015 there will be a Thai event in Driehuizen in North Holland. Driehuizen is located in the Schermer Polder, centrally located between Purmerend, Hoorn and Alkmaar.

The culture of Thailand

In order to introduce visitors to this event to the culture of Thailand, we have tried to make a broad selection of the characteristics that will appeal to most people. These include the various styles of Thai dance and costumes, Buddhist monks, Thai music, fruit carving, flower decoration, Thai boxing, Thai dishes and curiosities from Thailand.

This is divided into a day program where the entertainment will be provided from a stage and various stalls / stalls where food and curiosities will be offered. For further information, please visit the website: www.thailandindepolder.nl

Global program:
Saturday it starts at 10.00 am with the ceremony "praying and feeding Thai monks" after which the party starts. On both days, the band PED NOY plays, there is Chompu's dance group, there is traditional and modern Thai music, fruit cutting, flower arranging, a cooking demonstration and there are stalls with food from all over Thailand. There are also stalls with clothing, silk, statues and all kinds of accessories and there is the possibility to bring ingredients for a delicious Thai meal.

The day program continues until about 20.00 pm and will then be continued on Saturday inside the café restaurant with the same band PED NOY and the dance group 'Isaan Entertainment' led by Chompu.

A similar program will be played on Sunday and will also start at 10.00 am and will end by Sunday evening.

Other activities

The monks of Wat Buddhavihara from Purmerend will be present on both days. There will be TUK TUK's, men and women in beautiful Thai traditional costumes and Akka's (a mountain people) in their beautiful clothes who like to talk about their life in the mountains of Thailand. And there is the possibility to sail through the polder with an electric boat.

The children have also been thought of, there is a bouncy castle, a tent where you can make a beautiful leather stamp and a beautiful, child-friendly archery range, cotton candy and more. Everything under supervision.
